UEFA Nations League 2023 | Final - Sun 18th Jun, 19:45 (BST) - Spain v Croatia

Beautiful run from Kovacic followed by a pass setting a 1v1 situation. Brilliant.

This is my 8th " final" I'm after watching in the last few weeks.
The 3 Wembley playoffs, the FA Cup, 3 European finals and tonight's.
They've all been so close, some going to penalties, extra time etc.
Little goals.
Margins are so tight now.

Poor choice from Luis de la Fuente to continue to play a man down.

Should have used our last sub to bring us to full strength.

Nearly every final is a chess match now.

Few players are given freedom to play as they like, and most of the first 75 minutes is mostly a game of attrition, so energy is mostly spent on executing the manager’s tactics perfectly and not making mistakes, rather than forcing attacks or taking chances.

That’s especially the case when one side is substantially stronger than the other, as was the case in the FA Cup final, CL final, and the EL final.

A game played as though every player has played 60+ games this season, not surprised it's gone to penalties.

When Modric retires and the Croatian team fades a tier or two down the European scene, you'll sorely miss close-ups of hot chicks in red/white checkered tops bouncing up and down on your TV screens.

A few weeks ago we were complaining about the excitement, or lack of, in the Luton Coventry play off.
It was like a Hitchcock thriller compared to this.
