I just realised (sorry if I am being slow) that IF we win on Saturday that will take us to 31 points and IF Everton lose to the rags away on Saturday (which hopefully they will) we will be only 6 points off them with a game in hand.

So the Everton away game in April could be absolutely crucial.

Let's hope after last nights good win we can keep our run going.

Yes I agree, I also think with the formation last night and the players MH has brought in we will be better equipped for away matches, we have been light weight this season. Top six is still a possibility.

If Rags win the LEague Cup (which frankly I don't care if they do) - league place 6 = UEFA Cup
If one of the top 4 wins the FA Cup = league place 7 = UEFA Cup too.

Lets not get carried away, but Stoke, Boro and Pompey - very least we should get is 7 points??!! 9 should be do-able.

... And don't forget that our superior goal difference means we only have to be level on points to go above anyone below Arsenal.

Very important factor!

I think it's reliant on us getting results against maybe 3 of the top 6 we've still got to play. 5 of them are away from home, and thats where I think our first half of the season will cost us.

If we can do that, and finish in the top 6 it will be looking very good for next season.

Agreed. Those home defeats against Chelsea, the dippers and Spuds (when we were ahead in each one), coupled with our lousy away form will probably cost us a European spot. We'll just have to win the bloody UEFA cup then!

I agree, definately think 6th spot is achievable with our signings and fingers crossed more to come. David Moyes apparantly hasn't got any plans on bringing anyone in. Now compare the two squads....strength in depth, definately put us above Everton. It's up to the players & Mark Hughes to realise they can make a season of it now and push on for that goal.
