There's a player on the pitch who is the prototype of that fantasy - Javi Martinez. We were linked with him in 2009 AND 2010, reportedly we were close to signing him in 2009 according to the papers.

Martinez neither has Pace nor technique comparable to the average Spaniard. He is tough and simple. A Spanish Mikel Obi.

Sorry, but Martinez has great pace and skill for a guy his size. He reminds me of Yaya at times and has scored some incredible goals.

We have two players with the technique to match Spanish players - Wilshere and McEachran - and neither is there. OK, it may be a bit early for McEachran but Wilshere should never have been allowed to be pulled out by Whinger.

You are watching him play right now! That is how he plays for his club. Comfortable simple passing. He might have run the length of a field but he is not pacy. Walker is Pacy! Rose is Pacy! Martinez is not.

I meant pacy for his size, he's something like 6'4" and is never going to be as fast as Theo Walcott. He has a great mix of pace and power, and great control (plus a nice shot), that's why I consider him a great prototype of a Spanish/English mixed style player. I'd have him at City in a heartbeat.

i disagree mate i think first half he went missing but second half hes won the ball back on a few occasions and to be honest when he gets the ball he hasn't got much options, he hasnt been brilliant but he hasn't been awful and kyle walker is qaulity

WIlshere and MeEahran would have really helped. But Lansbury is an Arenal guy so that should help
