UEFA Women's Euros | England win final on penalties!

Not the most exciting opening fixtures. Beney looked a promising player though. Interesting she plays RB at international level but s a forward at club level. Wonder how we'll use her.

Looking forward to catching Italy tomorrow who have been on much improved run lately. Spain should bring a bit of quality to the tournament (hope they dont look too good though)

The UEFA computer must have been working overtime.

This has got to be one of the most unbalanced draws of all time.

That group had the 9th 10th 14th and 17th best sides in Europe.

Meanwhile the Dutch (6th best side in Europe) and Denmark (7th best) both have 2 higher ranked teams in their groups.

Spain (1) have 8 12 + 13 so that group is about right in fairness.

For those who are interested, Belgium and Italy are now playing (0-0 in the 30th min). Next: Spain vs. Portugal (8:00pm).

The Denmark v Sweden game is 0-0 at half time. City old girl Angledahl with the best shot of the game footballing wise. The best fan shot was at half time of the young Danish girl (who according to my son looked about 12) reading a book on particle physics.

Two ex-City players combining for the Sweden goal. Asllani with the assist for Angeldahl's goal.

Talking of City players...

Knaak starts for Germany with Lohmann on the bench.

Another ex-City player was Nadia Nadim who played for Denmark in the second half.

I thought Angeldahl had a good game (perhaps the player of the match). I know she was not popular with some on here, but in my opinion she was an experienced, all rounded player who became a victim of Taylor’s coaching method (or lack of it).

Thought she left at the right time. Was quite limited as a central midfielder and was slowing down a bit so couldn't quite keep up for the box-to-box role where she was situated in the team. Always had a goal in her though as she seems to be continuing to show.

How fuckin annoying is that drumming , I've had to switch it off, god help us if it ever comes to the Etihad, I think I'll have to call it a day after watching the Blue Boys for over 45 years.
