This is certainly worth a glance anyway and some of the best footage i have seen in a while.

You've heard of Aeroplanes, right? It travelled at the same speed as an aeroplane would. It's lights were flashing, like an aeroplane's would. It's seemingly travelling east to west, after looking at the next day's footage which shows the sun in the middle of the shot, so could be heading towards Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati or Indianapolis... This is hardly in the middle of nowhere! Just a thought.

As for the optical "orb" effect... Night vision will accentuate a bright light source so causing the interference effect that you can see. You get the same with a telescope or binoculars pointed at a star or very bright source at night, but it doesn't mean it actually looks like that. Just an optical effect because the image can't resolve.
The laser beam could be from someone shining a laser "pen" at a plane that's reflecting off the fuselage or windows. Apparently there have been about 200 cases of this reported in this country alone this year... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8187503.stm
Make your own mind up... But at least look at all the evidence first eh?
The laser pen argument is flawed in the extreme. You would need unerringly accurate hands to keep the constant line of the plane in order to get the straight 'beam' effect. I mean, how much practice would that take? Not to mention waiting for the next arrival if it all goes wrong!
You fail to even mention the constant pulsing coming from the 'orb' that is the same as the 'laser pen'. Are you suggesting the light source(which would be different) somehow emits the same pulse strength to the laser pen light? I know light travels, but that summation is ridiculous.
You also, conveniently ignore the light source at the top the trees. It's easy to fashion in answers to your post to suit, but when you ignore some facts to tailor an answer, I have to discredit the answer given.
