My wife swears to god I was in the SAS. She keeps telling me I must have been trained to get in and out without being noticed.
I’ve been in there the whole time, camo’d up so you couldn’t see meErgh we already have our own thread......
It can only be seen by ex special forces @Blue Maverick @Mike Cledford are already posting in it, can you see it?
Strange
The SAS and SBS are considered the elite of the elite amongst SF. Brilliant tv series/book by Ben McIntyre "SAS Rogue Heroes" details their formation in WWII and the campaigns in Libya and Egypt with great success. They were sent all over Occupied Europe particularly France to liaise with resistance groups. Infamously Hitler issued the Commando order that meant any SAS captured would be executed as spies.
Remember watching the series a few years ago totally enthralling watching elderly blokes in the late 70s/80s talking calmly about horrific situations and real boys' own stuff.
Like most people I only became aware of them during the Iranian Embassy siege in 81.
During the first Gulf War the Bravo 2 zero mission to eliminate Scuds was attacked. Chris Ryan escaped across the desert and walked into the British Embassy in Damascus. Andy McNabb was caught and tortured. I immediately warmed to Ryan!
Apparently the majority of recruits are from either the Paras or the Royal Marines so the must be tough bastards to start with.
They train on the Brecon Beacons do jungle warfare and the last part of the selection is a 36h resistance to interrogation !!! I suspect these lads are hard as fuck.
Didn't realise the SAS were involved in the Yugoslav wars but fair play! They've also undertaken a lot of covert action in NI. Chances are you won't survive in this line of work if you're a dick and that's why I think the grey men in the shadows is the best description of them.
That was the home fixtureEmbassy siege was 1980
This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Sat here pissing my sides. Thanks for sharing.Entering thread .. Entering thread!
