Very easy for them to manipulate that. Take the former prime minister for example. He declared his tax a year ago as if he’d earned about £1.5m and was heavily taxed on that. He’d have comfortably made between £30/40m just from interest alone and bonds etc from his £700m wealth.There are lots like that even richer than him. They own the land, people’s mortgages and can continue to hoover up property sending house prices through the roof.

But add it up, it’s a fraction of what you can raise with 10% increase in income tax. A few individual cases don’t amount to a hill of beans.

I would have thought their intentions were quite obvious, as in if you burn down the local hotel housing people who you don’t like, then the people you don’t like can no longer be housed there and they are moved elsewhere.

It’s not a few individual cases though. Where do you think all the money from covid went? The money doesn’t just disappear and the government don’t have it. The working class bloke who got 10/12 grand doesn’t have it because they had to pay their bills and mortgages.
