UK far right trouble

Sounds like bullshit to me.

Banning people for actions completely unrelated to attending football matches? I can’t see how clubs could reasonably enforce this without being accused of discrimination, ironically enough, other than to make everyone wishing to attend a match subject to a criminal records check.
A football ground is probably deemed as private property so rightly or wrongly they can possibly ban anyone without needing to give a reason

How would it be discrimination to ban people for actions they personally took? They're a private business. They can ban whoever they want.
They can indeed ban anyone they want but the issue is where do they draw the line once you start banning people for offences unrelated to football?

Do they ban anyone with a record for disorder or violent crime, or just the people who will be convicted in relation to the events of the past few days? I don’t see how they could make it work without applying a blanket ban for certain offences.

If at a match or associated with then yes fair enough. I personally don't think outside of that 'football' is an arbiter of justice. Football struggles to run itself adequately.

You could also argue that a club could take the view - “you’re a deranged, violent dickhead and therefore unsafe to be in our stadium, therefore we’re not taking any chances and you’re barred”. Be pretty hard to argue against it.

Think newcastle banned someone last year for posting something on twitter that was anti-trans not related to football

They can do whatever they want (in regards this). They’re a private business. If they no longer want to sell you a ticket, you’re not getting one from them, they can give you your money back and tell you to fuck off
