UK in 5 years

You have heard of lexit? You seem to think brexit is a right left issue, it isn't as many lefties were and are in favour of leaving .

But at the same time it is being used as an excuse by the vilest in our society to be cunts to others whether on the left or right.

Totally agree

Infact many further left than i voted tory. I could not bring myself to do that.

Agree completely and it has got to stop.

My issue is the platform being used by them to peddle their filth and its why i get so fucking angry logging on here to have to read it, constantly.

"My side" there you are, clearly i am not a fan of the left...nor the right, so how is it my side?

Thats why I put it in “”, I was making an assumption you are right leaning. If you’re not then fine, but the point remains.

You've labelled the left as extreme and dangerous and downplayed the extreme right by the language you’ve used. And you also said there’s more left wing nutters. I pointed out a fact in Jo Cox’s murder - murder being the most extreme response to something and a incident perpetrated by the right on someone who was left.

I truly believe the left are more dangerous yes..because they are creating division and fear amongst normal people.

Daft as it is it was easier to socialise and mix therefore learn about other races back in the 80s and 90s without feeling you are treading on egg shells.

Now many feel it better to stick to their own to avoid being scrutinised and called out. Why do you think this is?

If that were not the case where do you think we would be in 5 years?

Creating division and fear? How? What do you mean by that?

I just don’t understand your point. I’ve given you an example of murder - surely that by definition is THE most dangerous something can get? It’s like you’re doing anything BUT acknowledging that fact.

And what do you mean by easier to socialise in the 80 and 90s to now? Are you saying you find it difficult to socialise with people who don’t look or speak like you, out of fear for what you might say? And what they might think of you? And do you think that is what a lot of people feel in the UK? And that is the primary reason for cultural divide? Sorry for all the questions, I just don’t understand your point.

From my experience it’s much easier to socialise now with people who come from different backgrounds to myself, certainly than in the 90s because society is more mixed. I have more friends who would be classed “diverse/BAME/international” than I did when I was at school for example.

Now Boris has his majority, Brexit will “get done” and he’ll be able to push through pretty much all of his policy proposals I would imagine. What world do people expect to be living in at the next GE?

Do you think your lives will have improved? Do you think the economy will be prospering? Will immigration have fallen? Will the NHS still be free?

Would love to hear people’s views on this.
It can’t be any worse than it is now. It’s a vile country to live in at the moment. The amount of aggression, division and vile arguments and attracts on and by usual “normal” people is just plain disturbing and worrying. Now I was a staunch remainer and from the off hopped the decision would be overturned somehow - but now I just want it sorted if it’s in a way that is right for the country. I’m not convinced it will be, but everyone continuing to fight isn’t the answer. Hopefully in 5 years we’ll have a strong Labour Party because being a one party country is just plain dangerous. We need both parties to have strengths - I don’t see either having many at the moment. But there’s no option than give the new government a chance now and see in a year or two where we are before we start arguing and falling out again. If Johnson and his chums somehow come good I’d be very happy to be proved totally wrong. Many friends of mine are saying “well I can’t wait For them to fuck up so everyone who voted them in look stupid” How is that good for anyone? It’s a ridiculous attitude to have. Sure if it goes tits up and Johnson and co get shown up to be the fibbers lots think they are then fair enough, we can say to the Tory voters “thanks - well done you tools” but actually wanting that to happen is just wrong. So to summarise, I hope in five years time we’ve more interesting and vital things to talk about than fucking Brexit. Maybe we might be able to be down the path of saving the planet which I think is pretty important in my view. Peace out

My point is leave people to get to understand and integrate at their own pace without having every word and action being scrutinesed in the hope of finding something that can be interpreted as racist bigoted and so on. People are sick of it. Do you deny that this is the case?

Personally speaking i never even noticed a persons colour back then, it was england v west indies on wythenshawe park (same outcome as the real tests at old trafford) never thought about racism or any of that shit.

The left and the likes of kick it out create the problem by putting it into peoples heads. Its gone to far. Leave people be to work it out for themselves, it works. People can live together quite happily more often than not.

Its also a two way thing in the case of the muslim community there can be more reluctance to mix which is rarely flagged up. Just maybe they have some work to do to avoid all this being worse in 5 years.

I have spent some time in Portugal where there is non of this and there are plenty of black people, indian people all happy together and yes i have found it much more comfortable to spend time with them here than at home.

I think Leave and Remain get equal shit. Some justified, some not.

I wouldn't describe scrutinising people's behaviour and attitudes "the most dangerous thing". Call me crazy but how is that comparable to a murderer? Haha.

I think claiming that the left and "kick it out" create the problem is utterly delusional. Are you saying racism didn't exist in football till Kick it Out came about? And in terms of your memories of the 80s it wasn't some utopian multi-cultural society mate. We used to describe going to the corner shop as the "p*** shop" - everyone did. Equally we used to say we're going to get a "chinky" tonight... That might have seemed all innocent to a lot of people but it wasn't to some!

There's an argument to say the UK has gone too PC... but to describe that as your reason as to why the left are the most dangerous element in society is just strange. Maybe I'm in the minority here but I will never understand how anyone can view that as more dangerous than a right wing nutter who took the life of a young woman. Never.

Top post. Spot on apart from the saving the planet bit, because (as) there is fuck all the UK can do about it, and (b) there is fuck all any of us can do about it, and (c) there is fuck all to do anything about. The planet will be just fine, but a bit warmer. It will still be spinning and full of life in 10,000 years let alone 100 years.
