no offence but I stopped reading at this line

''But the media has created a number of factors that make any sensible discussion on the future impossible. As they have convinced everyone we deserve better services and to pay less tax and that we should All be pursuing wealth and celebrity.''

wealth and celebrity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really? wow.....

most of us in the middle are just trying to pay the bills and struggling like fuck to do so while those that can afford it hire accountants to avoid paying what we have to and (some) others exploit the welfare state rules to ponce off us as well...

better services would be nice but not by paying even more tax

enough is enough

at this rate there will come a point where working as an employee is the least attractive option

balti at today's rates of tax services in 20 years will be 50% of what you are unhappy with today! Things are fucked and no one wants to talk about the reality. You are right that one of the biggest issues is tax avoidance something the UK led the world in creating and propagating much to the dismay of the EEC.

Don't worry there won't be bludgers for long as there won't be any money for benefits long term.

they are the least of it

what exactly do we get for sacrificing so much of our income in income tax?

we are already being robbed blind by these coonts in suits with luxury pensions hiding behind those that we actually need in the public sector

they have taken the piss for far too long already

You cannot language test every employee, it's illegal. Only non-EEA employees can be language tested and the NHS already does this. The law that allows you to language test EEA workers has already been decided and will be implemented in late 2015. The GMC which licences Doctors already does this

He's solving a problem that doesn't exist with a solution that cannot be implemented. He's an excellent politician when you think about it.

How can you replace a doctor like that? Train more ! Which is a bloody good idea, because Britain has for too long found it easier and cheaper to leave other countries to fund doctor training and get them in cheap ( aus do the same) .

So if they organise new places and get that' sorted quick it will be about 2 years, then 10 years to qualify, so in 12 years they will be in place. Does the NHS run on not enough doctors (and this will all be inner city) until then? Might be easier just to offer a few language classes.

This is typical farage populism - he makes what seems a good point but totally avoids practicality or reality and actually it is a nothing point! He is offering a more expensive solution that will take over a decade to execute and trying to win votes by pretending he will do it overnight.

It would be great for the developing world though if richer western countries stopped stealing their doctors as they have been for 70 years so it's not a bad idea at all.

It would be great for australia too, as it is far cheaper for Britain to train up doctors and we can then take them by offering residency and good prospects (which is much cheaper than us training them up). So farage better train enough to cover NHS and lose a few hundred a year to Aus, NZ and other countries who will be glad to take them!

Spot on - he is clearly a very very able politician , unfortunately many of the worst people in history were very able politicians.

if you ask people do you want all NHS staff to speak English most will say yes. If you ask people do they want the NHS fully staffed they will say yes. If you ask do people want the NHS to get trained doctors in the most efficient way they will say yes. The problem is there is always a trade off and Farage (like all politicians but even more so) only ever talks about one side of the trade.

The Thanet councillor was kicked out of Nigel Farage's right-wing party for the "jaw-dropping" racist outburst in a recorded TV interv
Rozanne Duncan

A Ukip councillor was kicked out of the party for allegedly saying she had a problem with "negroes" because there was "something about their faces", it emerged today.

Rozanne Duncan was expelled last month after making what were described as "jaw-dropping" remarks in an unbroadcast TV programme.

But both the right-wing party and BBC refused to reveal what she had said.

The row today tore into the open as what she was alleged to have said finally became public in The Times newspaper.

I fuckin can.

In the last 6 years i've visited at least one hospital in Gtr Manchester every month with my Dad/Wife/Grandson and i have never ever met a nurse, doctor or surgeon who couldn't speak English.

Will Farages proposal also see those English working abroad fucked off back to Blighty because they can't speak the local lingo?

I took on an apprentice recently and he struggles to string 2 words together in his native tongue.
