I’ve just received a lovely letter from my mate Sadiq Khan, he says if I come down to London from the end of august I’ll have to pay £12.50 in his new expanded ULEZ zone, how much has this cost to send to everyone who has a non compliant car or van? this guy is an absolute tool and needs removing from office. Many of his arguments have been debunked indeed the most polluted part of London appears to be the tube stations!
Saw a great video on you tube last night were a loophole has been found, a bloke has gifted Khan his non compliant car, he’s signed over his car to Khan on the V5, the bloke has kept the car and can still tax, insure and drive it, but any fines will be sent to Sadiq as he is the registered owner, brilliant.
Sadiqs next step is to charge you to drive by the mile, let’s hope this shite doesn’t come to Manchester, I think this ULEZ bollocks is up there with the Poll Tax and basically needs everyone to refuse to pay.

Defo a cash generator. Like any government, local or national, they need new ways to fleece you so that they can carry on wasting it.
I've made a comment in the Cashless Society thread about how people are acting like sheep about taxes.
Ulez WILL come to Manchester.

As will pay per mile. The govt will have to maintain the roads without the revenue from the pumps once we are all driving our electric cars - magically powered by electricity not made from burning fossil fuels and releasing co2.

You must have driven your car within the proposed ULEZ zone within a specified period.

They aren't going to every house in the UK with a non compliant vehicle.

That's not a loophole, it's either invalid because Sadiq Khan didn't accept the transfer or fraud.

Which would be a continuing fraud every time he incurs a fine or parking ticket.

where do you live and what car do you drive in terms of fuel and age?

Oh and that ruse is bollocks - the name on the V5 needs not be the owner of the vehicle. Every lease car I got through work had the lease company or my employers name on the V5 - mine never was. So any fines incurred WERE sent to them and they would have just forwarded them to the driver. Any ULEZ tickets that came in could just be forwarded to the guy who thought he was being clever.

When was ULEZ originally brought in?

And why don't you feel a tad responsible for polluting air and contributing to children getting asthma and an increase in early deaths?

No not in the slightest. You are absolutely laughable, not even arguing with morons like yourself I don't need the blood pressure raising. Have a shit day, you are now blocked.

I'll do time before I give them a penny for this utter shite. It will cost the twat his Mayoral seat anyway.

Do you even have a car from before 2006?

Over 93% of cars in the UK are ULEZ compliant and don't pay anything.

And of the remaining 7%, over a third are exempt for other reasons.

So this change matters to about 2% of car drivers.

In fact, the supposed revenue coming in from this scheme of £93.6m a year works out as approx 20,000 cars. In a city with 2.6m. So that's actually 0.7% of cars in London.

There's absolute no way that all the people suddenly pretending they care about this 8 year old Boris Johnson policy are actually affected by it in any way.

Well this is a more interesting thread than the other ones on the politics site with a bit of dissension amongst the ranks.

Need to start cracking down on people getting their DPFs removed nationwide. I get that they are a ballache and expensive to replace when they fail though.
