Has anyone had Ulnar Nerve transposition surgery? If so how, long did it sting for afterwards? I had mine done yesterday and I’m well in the hurt locker today

hope recovery is going well? Sounds like a major op

I’m 3 days in post op and have ended up on morphine....not a pleasant experience at the moment. At least I can feel my hand again which is why it was done in the first place so every cloud and all that.
Hi grant
Can I ask what the original symptoms were? I've had a problem with my neck and shoulder for months but it has now progressed to pain in my arm, my outer elbow and tingling in my hands (centering on my middle finger). It's like a bloody power surge several times a day.

Hi mackenzie,

I had the same and still have problems with the shoulder but I suggest you go to a neuro physicist.

They will do tests using needles to ascertain whether you will heal naturally.

Often its a trapped nerve but if it doesn't get better in about three months doing nothing you might need surgery.

Hi @mancity1
Many thanks for your reply.
Was yours the Ulna nerve too? I only ask because I have never heard of it before, but perhaps problems with it are quite common?
I've been putting it off for 3 months now, after being told originally by a GP (by video) that it was my rotator cuff that was the problem.
Then these bloody "power surges" kicked in :-(

I trapped mine doing exercise. It’s the nerve that is the “funny bone” side of your elbow. My symptoms were constant pain in my arm/elbow and half my hand, little finger and ring finger were completely numb. The surgery has definitely fixed that as I can feel them again but my elbow is agony although I’m hoping that is simply post surgery pain.

Thanks for the reply. My symptoms are similar to yours, although I haven't had the numbness. Was referred to A and E yesterday for an ECG to make sure it's not my heart causing the shooting pains (it's not) and was told it's probably a nerve blockage (could have told them that, but I guess they are correct to get everything checked). Now awaiting x-ray results. I think mine is probably arthritis connected (runs in the family).
Hope you are feeling a little better now after your op (and that I don't have to have one, lol).
