Undesirable Slang/Accents

My Mum was from Whitehaven, Cumberland, before Ted Heath started telling people they didn't come from where they thought, and I never enjoyed going up there. Couldn't understand a bloody word anyone said. It wasn't accent on its own. The speech was interspersed with 'foreign' words. If you can imagine the most difficult to understand Geordie with an inexorable number of twists, you have West Cumberland - salt of the earth, but take a translator!

Nottingham, can't fuckin stand it.

This,

I can't stand the Nottingham/Derby. No offence to any blues from there but it is an annoying accent. It goes through me, why do they say 'liiiiike' after every other word.

I also can not stand the brummie accent.

Fuckin hate this accent. My brother has just started at Nottingham Trent University and his new best mate is from Nottingham. Of course, if you're living there and hanging round with the locals you pick up the accent, he's come home twice briefly since September and I can hear the change in his accent already. He now says 'liiike' after every word and stuff. Started to really get on my tits. I dread to think what he's gonna sound like after he's finished four years there :(

lol gutted mate.

My flatmate is from Derbyshire and she says like after every other word so I have to put up with it all the time. I have never hated an accent so much.

I use to work in Gosforth and in a little(tiny) place called Boot, one or 2 of the Chefs were from Millom and Workington,OMFG what a bunch of Loony Tunes but salt of the earth. After a shift me mate used to say "am goin' yam marrer", meaning I'm going home mate. They always say 'eh' after a comment, such as i've had a couple of pints 'eh', or it's pissin' down 'eh'. Top place though 'eh'. >)

Just wondering if there are any Slang words anyone despises?

I live in Georgia, one of the most redneck places in USA. Although it really is not all that country southern talk you will hear on TV and the movies. Though inevitably you will hear it and instantly recognize it! However, I hate the slang word Ya'll! ..... annoying and "fixin" to do it. I really dislike the accent here the "country twang" so to speak. Thankfully I have almost no traces of it. Except when I use the word "got".

Whatever dude, I bet you sound like Paula Deen....
