When MH was our Manager just before a Derby game he was asked how was his relationship with Ferguson to which he replied that he doesn't have a relationship with him.

Not aware that the situation has changed.

It is on record that he held clandestine meetings at Hamilton Services on the M74 with Martin Edwards, and I am sure they were before they sacked fat Ron. The hypocrisy of his comments absolutely beggar belief

if only there was somebody brave enough in the media to front him about this.

Nobody in the media dare question him whilst hes still in the job out of fear of being banned from his inner circle.

I don't imagine it has. Ferguson, who is nothing if not manipulative, was attempting through the medium of satellite TV to flatter Hughes.

He was effectively saying:

"We may have had our differences as people in the past but you were a valuable player for this club where you had some great times - and I bought you back from Bayern Munich remember. I'm going to remind you of that by saying that I wish Hughes the player was playing for QPR on Sunday and to reinforce that I'm going to call you Sparky, even though I wouldn't dream of referring to Arsene Wenger as The Professor on national TV.

I am also going to go on to say how badly you were treated by City when they sacked you. Partly to remind you (and the viewing public) of that fact but also to remind you that, in spite of our differences I was there for you when they sacked you, as you called me that day (which I then broadcast to the world at the time saying you were 'hurting').

Remember where you came from Sparky. You've burned your bridges at City. You need to pick a side and there's no-where else to turn but back to daddy"

If I was part of the legal team at City, I'd send a letter to the FA and demand that he makes a full and sincere apology to us at his next press conference or face legal action. It's bewildering how everyone just sits back and allows him to slander other clubs/players constantly. He'd dig his heels in and refuse to do it just like he wouldn't back down over an argument over some horse spunk. That allowed the glazers in and him personally being sued for millions would see him walk away from the game all together.

...as long as we hand out an uncompromising, unethical battering to the Rs on sunday, I couldn't give a hoot about his inane ramblings.

It is almost as if he's in those last few days before death, when the oldies just lose their marbles and start giggling about goblins hiding behind the light bulb - so they don't panic about what's going to happen to them....
