I've always found United v Liverpool a boring fixture, very rare do they have classics, same with Liverpool v Everton, a load of borefests. I prefer watching City v United and 110% Spurs v Arsenal where it's goals galore

I do enjoy the North London derby, usually produces very entertaining games.

I first started properly getting into football when I was 8, over 30 years ago, and even in those early years as a Manchester United fan one of the first things I picked up was the importance of the Manchester United vs Liverpool clashes, the clash of great local rivals with proud histories of achievement both domestic and European, the clash of tradition, the clash of two teams who have truly massive, genuine global followings that the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea can only dream about.

Football matches of a certain level and magnitude have the capacity to generate a level of prestige, hype and interest that goes beyond those just involved in football and this clash of arch rivals Manchester United and Liverpool certainly ranks very highly amongst that category of games, indeed it's never just a game, it's a battle above and beyond what happens on the pitch.

Manchester United vs Liverpool, or indeed Liverpool vs Manchester United, is genuinely so much more than a football match, it’s about rivalry, tradition, competition, emotion and certainly given what both clubs have achieved domestically and abroad, the combined proven history of success dictates that this is still the biggest clash that English football can provide no matter the claims of the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Whenever Manchester United and Liverpool clash, the match always has massive importance to everybody involved and that is definitely the case here for the clash on Monday night, this match is absolutely vital to both teams, the pressures riding on it are immense given defeat in this fixture is something that neither side can afford to comprehend, defeat in this fixture is a heavy blow to take and it leaves everybody connected reeling on the ropes.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the match works out on next Monday night, it's one of those fixtures that really grabs you, the events of the day of the match are planned around the match and if you are lucky enough to attend the match live then I doubt you can beat the intensity of the atmosphere as you can genuinely feel it just sat in the stands, there is just something extra special about it.

I've been lucky enough to attend plenty of Manchester United vs Liverpool fixtures in my time, although only ever at Old Trafford and I must say I do wish I'd had the chance to attend a Liverpool vs Manchester United clash at Anfield.
- it's something that you look forward to all week long before the match and the buzz you get on the day itself and during the match really is something else, if you can I recommend you make every effort to experience it at least once even if you don't support either side.

I'll give my views on how I see the game potentially going and the bets I think are most tempting but for now here are some of the statistics that I think matter most leading up to the match on Monday night, at Anfield, under the lights, Klopp vs Mourinho, everything is set up to make it truly special and let's hope it is just that

What can I say to this? (Once I've stopped laughing)

The truly BIG clashes were CITY v Rags in the olden days when the majority of players were local Mancunians - you missed out on those days because you are so young.

Heeheeheeee, that's really brightened up an overcast morning, thanks.

Methinks he/she doth protest too much, probably because of their generally jammy record v dippers (hence they enjoy it more). With us, it's all too frequently been a too much to lose game for them.

When we were rubbish, the shame of being beaten (as on derby day we always had a chance) and now the fear of being absolutely mullered again, possibly worse than the sick swan looms in every game.
So what to do?
Flight? Can't.
Fight? Not got enough in em to weather a potential 30'odd year winter the way we did.
Freeze? - Yeah, I think that's what this is. Displace their fear with diversionary tactics and hope it goes away/pretend it never happened.

Can't wait until our Brazilian maestro arrives in January. Then we can all carry out a value for money comparison on the Pogba Jesus deals.will show utd up for the idiotic panic buyers they really are.
And whats all this nonsense about them revamping their scouting network and employing 50 new scouts so they can get the best young players in the country/planet? Do they not realise the horse has already done one the silly red muppets

I love this story of a revamp by employing 50 people!! A revamp!!!??

Employing 50 scouts in one go screams of people who have no idea what they are doing and frantically scrambling around following others..... " Shit, shit, shit shit, our kids teams are getting hammered! What do we do? Get some scouts! How many? Dunno? 10? 20? Er, lets get 50, that'll show 'em. Great work boys!"

They've really sat on their success for so long and slowly let things slip. It's great to watch. As someone who grew up watching us toil away in the lower leagues while they scooped up every prize, i've earned this.

Coupled with how incredible we are now in every department, it's something we, as blues, never thought we'd see!
