United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

That was shite. I can't think of many positives, we didn't get beat and good save from Ederson maybe.

Apart from the long range shot, did we have another effort on target?

Worst derby I’ve ever seen. Good job they’re woeful or we could have lost that by a cricket score

Wrong tactics, wrong line-up, wasted opportunity.

Advantage Chelsea.

Didnt look like we wanted it. Lot of passengers out there today. Very disappointed we didn't have a go at em. I'd have started the 2 wingers but hey ho.

Absolutely dim dull derby. If anything the rags were better. Shocking result, really bad one for us and our top 5 hopes.

I said in the pre match thread, the only way we would score would be a twenty yard shot, and we hardly had any of those
In recent years, our lack of physical presence has been more than made up for in technical ability (think Mahrez, Gundogan, Bernardo)
Without Haaland and Rodri, we have no physical presence and the remaining technical players, have lost their ability

That was truly a drab affair. Our philosophy until the end of the season is clearly try and be as risk averse as possible, no transitions, grind out results.

I think Peps stubbornness is costing us hugely now.

If you’re telling me Nico, Savinho or Mcatee wouldn’t have added some urgency then I’ll be amazed.

Pep is treating it like this is the only way to play atm, United are shite and I just hope we have a change in style next season.

I remember during the glory days when we won 6-1 and had about 8 players attacking none stop.

Looking at top 5 it really is a shocking result, let Chelsea off the hook and Newcastle have two games in hand, one away at Leicester tomorrow. Awful from Pep this season.

I'm trying not to be too emotional as the game has just ended. But, that performance has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I didn't think I would ever feel that way about a City Pep team, but there we are.
We played like the team at the wrong end of the table. So much wrong today that I really don't know where to start.
I'll leave the in-depth rants for other posters.

The only positive is the Dias-Gvardiol partnership which looks rock solid, if only we had true fullbacks we'd have some defence, apart from that, this was one of the worst games I've seen in my life in any top league, made the Derby at the Etihad look like the France-Argentina World Cup final.
