Exactly. If this season is to serve any purpose it should be to play the future squad and find tactics that suit them.

Playing older players is pointless.

The injury crisis should have been an opportunity to play youth. And since the injuries are less there is no excuse imo.

Pep has been very poor this season. I hope whoever our new manager is to eventually be arrives soon rather than later. I have no faith left in Pep to bring us forward. I love what he did and he deserves immense thanks but needs to go asap.

He was going end of this season but had a change of mind ,is he still going to be here for the right reasons ?
He obviously didn't have enough trust to play most of new signings plus last summer signings at Old Trafford .
Only he knows why ?
So what will he be like with another lot of new signings coming in to replace players leaving soon .
He didn't look arsed at full time .
That team we played against today were crap ,but we never put them under any kind of pressure for the full game.
We looked like a team already on the beach on their summer holidays sun tanning themselves .

maybe but I interepret that (as its been there all season) as he knows he cant do anything about it with the players he has...he knows KDB is done....he was clearly part of the decision not to offer KDB a new contract and rightly so...same with gundo - Pep knows he aint got the players to change anything at present.

He has players but has stuck with the old guard. The players he has are not at the standard we would like. We needed some pace and some width. At least he could have had Nico Jack ,Doku and Savinho from the start to give us some pace.

We were minus Stones, Rodri and Haaland and KDB and Gundogan are 33, 34. What do you want from Pep? Magic?

It was a dire game. What concerns me is that Forest will likely play a similar set-up in the FA Cup semi-final and we will need to find a way to break them down.

I'd say this was a season summary but you mentioned the defence was decent.

Jack and Nico G are quick? No they are not.

I would not have played KDB and Gundogan myself but Doku and Savinho would have led to loads of transitions.
