Ugh the texts from United fans are already coming in... That was ugly. Can't think of a single positive takeaways from that match. Nobody played well. Hopefully Ederson got all of his mistakes for the season out of the way in one match.

Silver lining - Grand scheme of things it doesn't matter all that much. We'll finish 2nd. We've still won the league cup and are the oddsmakers favorites for the FA Cup and CL.

Even before all the UEFA shit I think we all knew this season was all about the CL. As long as we're still doing well in Europe I'm not going to let a loss in the derby get me down for too long.

The Gundogan and Rodri midfield works fine against more attacking teams to break down play. Against teams we need to break down, one needs to be dropped. It’s so obvious to everyone, but pep quite clearly has his favourites who must start nearly every game

Pep did't throw it with his team selection.

A dreadful performance from Ederson did. City didn’t do enough to win but should never have conceded those two goals, both of which Ederson was badly at fault on.

We have to buy two high quality centre backs in the summer, one needs to be world class; both need to be big, strong and quick.

It was a poor team selection.

We had to bring on Jesus and Mahrez to get back into it - they should have started.

Ederson - Worst performance in a City Shirt
Zinchenko - Slow and gave the ball away too much
Otamendi - Trier but always a mistake in him
Fernandinho - Wasted in defence, in two ways
Cancelo - not a great defender, not great going forward
Rodri - Jury's still out as a replacement for Ferdandinho - great when we're bullying teams, bad when we're not
Gundogan - If he's not playing defensive mid against lower league don't play him
Foden - For someone that needs to stake a claim for a first team place and/or replacement for Dave - did himself no favours today
Sterling - May as leave him out versus Utd or Liverpool or we play with ten men
Bernado - Not played well since the ban
Aguero - Scored a perfectly good Liverpool/Man Utd goal today but other than that....

Mendy - Not a great defender, not a great crosser of the ball.

Fitness, tactics, passion, speed & attitude has been the problem this season.

Maybe exhaustion from last 2 years is to blame.

We really need a few new players of quality in & a captain or next season we are fighting for top 6 at best oh & play players in their positions

Way below our best unfortunately but still should have got something from the game. Zinchenko and Otamendi were so poor on our left and Ederson had a disaster. Just didn't have enough drive going forward. Walker and Mendy would have been the better option.

I still don't like Gundogan and Rodri together either as we lose a lot of creativity going forward without gaining any defensive solidity. I would have preferred Bernardo, Foden and Rodri as our central 3 with KDB being out. Sterling struggled again. No idea why we don't try him on the right against their inexperienced left back where he could have used his pace. Mahrez was Manhrez and did a couple of good thing but was mainly as predictable as predictable can be.

Ultimately though the result is unlikely to make any real difference to us finishing top 4 and the cup games are more important for us this season. Still hate losing to poor sides like them though I won't lose much sleep over it.

What the actual fook is going on with sterling at the moment? Appalling again today. Better off with a training cone on the pitch today. Love him but his mojo has more than just disappeared it’s gone right back up it’s own pimhole at the moment.

Dont think there was much betwen the two teams...both playing to their strengths and vastly different styles but one more effective than the other.

Utd have got better recently and we have gone backwards - the gap between us is certainly closing
Utd defend well but they haven't got much going forward. They didn't cause our defence many problems given we were chasing the game for an hour.

Sorry but Ederson was a total dick today. So-called world class Sterling was out of his depth once again. Clearly Otamendi being pulled so far over to the left was a disaster, where were the instructions for Zinchenko to take up his position? Gutting.
