It is not just the fact that Sterling and Mahrez cut inside, both pull back the ball so losing all attacking momentum. Any one of our attackers breaking through the middle has to stop still whilst defenders have time to take up positions.I think the problem we have got is we conjest the middle of the pitch

The movement and pressing today fell well short of fan expectations, maybe the players were just following instructions. Having said that, I can't see Pep saying to Sterling 'keep it up Raz, you're having a (yet another) stinker".
This conversation wouldn’t be happening if we converted a higher proportion of our chances, and for that our current front 3 are to blame. We must squander more one on one opportunities that any other team in the leagueI agree to an extent with all those points. The thing is those players with maybe the exception of Sterling were like that last season too. Our offensive game has dipped and an aspect of that is down to the unmentionable.
It's not all negative. The defence is very much stronger than last season. Perhaps a contributory factor in this problem is the amount of football and lack of rest and that affects all sides.
If you look across Europe I've seen some terrible performances this season from Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona and Liverpool. Chelsea could not even make an impression at Everton. It's unrealistic to expect City to be invincible ad we were. I just ask that City fans look honestly at their team and accept that some players have dipped from the stellar level they were at.

Reminds me of Shearer at International level all those years ago. He'd pick up a hoofed ball by the corner flag, what was he supposed to do, cross it to himself on the penalty spot...So who does he thread these passes though to if the others aren’t there? Does he pass through the eye of a needle and get on the end of it himself

We have issues in the team for sure, but come May, we will be in one of the top 2 positions in the league table.

If we are within 4/5 points of the top at that stage then I think we will win the league.
