United (A) | Post Match Thread

He was shite today.on the edge of his own area turning circles like a fucking corkscrew and then giving a neutral,non-effective pass.If his missus wants to move abroad and lie on a sun-bed all day drinking pina colladas then come out and say so,then piss off and let us get on with planning for the future.
He was basically hiding for most of the match, and running back 40 yards to fuck about with the ball on his own 18 yard line isn’t kidding anyone.

To be honest though I think his missus gets a lot of unfair flak. If you read his recent interviews, he clearly wants another move so he can have 3-4 years somewhere else before then angling for a move to Benfica. I doubt his missus really has a major bearing on him wanting out.

Looking that way.

On current form we might need to win the fucking thing, to qualify for the Champions League next year.

That first goal was day light robbery,we all agree on that.I am still in shock about it.

Fact is though, yet again we were incapable of managing a 1 goal lead.

Soon as we scored it was revert to type, the new normal at City, playing Dog shit again miss placed pass after miss placed pass.

That first half i felt we were deliberately ignoring Haaland playing to Pep plan of retain possession at all costs, passing to the side, and to the back. Haaland was being ignored. The players were consciously ,very deliberately playing that way.Fearing the Rags more than playing to our strengths. That was a game plan, get to half time 0-0.

Why have we suddenly stopped passing to him ?.One shot on target against Basement dwellers and the Rags.It is astonishing.

Second half we started off much better.Looking to go forward. We score. And just like that,we go to shit again, players making stupid passes, full backs leaving acres of space behind,it is so stupid and Niaeve.

We were winning ffs,but were incapable of managing it.It was shocking.

Sooner or later we are going to have a difficult conversation of where we go with Pep whether we want to have the conversation or not.He has been a great manager for us and won a shit load of Trophies.

The fact is though, based on this season performances, we are regressing badly on the Pitch.Players are not performing. Some of them actually look fat and unfit. The beautiful fast tikki-takka football has morphed in to Franken-football.Slow dull insipid Robotic build up play.Emphasis more about keeping possession than creativity. The creative players look like they have had all their creativity coached out of them.

Pep has committed to us for a further 12 months.Which is good news.....or is it ?

Is 12 months going to be enough time for Pep to rebuild this current team, which cycle right now looks done ?.

I am not over reacting, just being realistic. You stand still in football, and dine out on recent success you end up spending a decade in the wilderness like the Rags have. There is no room for sentiment.

Things are not right at the moment we can all see that in the performances. There needs to be changes,or Top 4 is not guaranteed.

Maybe we need to bring in a better Number 2,more vocal, with more of a personality.Maybe someone like Vinny.Obviously if he would give up the Burnley job. with a view to him becoming heir apparent at City.Maybe Zabba if he has his coaching badges.Something needs to change.
“Yet again we were incapable …”

But didn’t we do exactly that away at Chelsea nine days ago?

Mine own take on the game fwiw;

Gutted.
He was interfering with play even though he didn’t touch it, so it shouldn’t have stood.
Second goal was poor; asleep defending.
Well chuffed for Jack & Cancelo much improved.
Rodri MoM.

We looked much improved today; if last match was a 3/10, today was an 8/10, even though we lost.
Deserved a point at least.

Take the offside decision out of it and what happened after it we have massive concerns player wise. Thought Cancelo and Walker looked closer to their best today, which helps for the rest of the season.

But Foden and Bernardo are becoming massive issues. Something has happened prior to the World Cup with Foden, Pep wasn't picking him then. Whatever it is Phil needs to sort it out. He's to good to play the way he did today and the Chelsea game. He needs to lift and we neee him desperately.

Bernardo is another one, he was poor today. We all know he wants out, he says it anytime he's interviewed it's at the point where this summer he has to go. He's a warrior, and loved by all of us but his performances are waning at a alarming rate. Today he wouldn't play the ball to Haaland who'd made decent runs and wasn't fed by everyone, Bernardo included. I do wonder if Bernardo has checked out mentally and is just going through the motions now.

Haaland is suffering due to other players form, and not getting any service. Him dropping deep today I understood the thinking but Haaland does his job in the box. He's a goal scorer and needs service to thrive. Without it he looks like he did today and against Chelsea. Our attack is blunt right now, Haaland getting no service is a massive part of it.

You underestimate women my friend.

You can tell Howard Webb's back

Bent as fuck

Hold the cunts accountable and don't let it wash away into just another thing.
We need to do our talking on the pitch (which is becoming increasingly difficult).

If we speak out, it makes the PL/PiGMOL's job so much easier because they'll just fine us and then threaten us with further action and a potential points penalty if we don't keep our gob shut.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola talking to BBC Match of the Day: "Congratulations to United. People will understand how nice Manchester City is. It was a fantastic game. We controlled the transitions better in the second half against Rashford and their fast players. We had the right spirit to do it. We were close and we have to improve when we concede the goal, be more stable, the gap between the first and second goal is too close. In general I have no regrets. I don't care if we don't win the Carabao Cup or the Premier League, we'll try. I don't care when a team performs how we play. It was quite similar to the many, many years we've been here.

"There are plenty of points to play for and we have to play there. In every game we have to perform. We always play in these sort of games and in others we struggle a little bit."

On the equaliser: "Marcus Rashford is offside, Bruno Fernandes is not. Rashford distracted our keeper and centre defenders. It is what it is. We know where we play. It is difficult for the referees in these stadiums."

On what they could improve: "Maybe our threat up front. Our people up front were not decisive. They run really well and punish us in the counter attack."

After the game: "Nothing happened. I know how we behave. We've finished above them five or six years in a row, I know exactly how we behave."

Fair dos pep he has been like this since he has been here and guess what we still get shafted like today! Fergie would of ran on the pitch and yossard the referee for that decision

That second only happens because City's heads were probably all over the place after the first goal is allowed, incorrectly, to stand. You have to be strong mentally but you also cannot help being human.

Bernardo ran his bollock off today.

Just had a quick look and lots of Blue Ticks on Twitter saying it should have been deemed offside, pundits, ex-pros, ex-refs. Not seen anyone say it should have stood.
Apart from that stupid corrupt twat Walton ! What the fuck is he doing on bt sport as a (so called) expert, when he clearly doesn't understand the basic rules of the game ? ? Or is he just telling the masses what they want to hear.
