United (A) | Post Match Thread

Jeez we play below par for a few games and all of a sudden we're a shit team.

People saying this really have no idea what City being shit actually looks like! I know! I've watched Steve Daley, Jamie Pollock, Neil Pointon, Lee Bradbury, Laurent Charvet, Santa Cruz to name a few.

I have never heard so many people so pissed off to be second in the league and with still a great chance to win it, along with 2 other cups.

Get a grip ... and more importantly get behind the team!

Come on City!

...because we were beyond shit 25 years ago doesn't mean we can't criticise now.

Compared to how we were playing, just last year, we are a shadow of ourselves.

Can you imagine the media carnage if we won in similar circumstances, yet this will be Luke Shaw’s chip paper tomorrow and then never mentioned again

They look like they will be in contention. unfortunately.

Pep, with his recruitment and tactics, has tried to fix something that wasn't broken and then broke it.

Yep they’re up there now and have enough to beat most teams
They’re in with a shot

Read he law here:

  • a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12
He doesnt stop or intefere with Ederson moving "towards the ball"...neither does it impact on Edersons ability to play the ball

Where the rule is wrong is that he impacts on decision making....but the rule above seems to only take account for physical actions
It is not Ederson Rashford was interfering with but Akanzi who was running towards the ball and if Rashford was not there Akanzi would have cleared ball before the shot was made.

of course he's interfering, if he stops and stands still, fine, play on not interfering, but he's carried on his run exactly as he would if he's onside, it's not even smart to not touch it, I think he's only left it because it was on his left foot and Fernandes was coming onto it and probably gives him a late shout.
Rule change...stops and stands still and raises his arms to show he has given himself up to the officials and opponents in trying to affect the play. Otherwise should be ruled offside.

Believe me, if you havent had chance to see the offside goal yet then sit down when you watch it.
Just going back to the pub to complete the shitfacedness mate, I won’t be watching it again. City are wonderful, football is disgusting

A bit stunned. Performance was fine. Then VAR decided to ignore the offside rule. We'll bounce back.
I don’t think the performance was fine. First half was just as bad as Wednesday night. Second half was ok against a wank United side, but still miles off of anything like our standards.
