Embarrassing performance once again...we didn't deserve to win something today... again
United wasn't that good either. Poor pressing up until they got in lead.
Southampton was far better in all aspects of the game.
We need to see a reaction from the team now, with two losses in a row. I believe we will still win if we stop the rot now. We became complacent, then insecure. Now hard work must be done to turn it around. I believe we'll manage it.

Anyone else just finding us boring as fuck to watch recently, as well? We can 'control' the game and pass the ball around all day, but it doesn't win us games. Hugely frustrating.

Boring and ineffective, possession stats get you fuck all especially when most of it is between Ake Akanji and Ederson

The mere fact that Rashford runs after the ball from an offside position means he interfers with the play. His movement obstructs Akanji's movement and thus shields the ball for Fernandes. One must be utterly biased or silly to believe the goal should have stood.

I feel optimistic after that game. Second half was really good. The loss will help us long term.

Proud with this team and manager.

People saying Akanji should have hustled back quicker, how many times have you seen defenders get too close behind a man running behind the lines, clip their heels, they go down, denial of goal-scoring opportunity + red card. Akanji can't be expected to know with 100% certainty he is offside.

The fact there is a player stood in his way massively impacts his decision making when it comes to attempting to play the ball. No Rashford = Akanji just accelerates and picks it up easily. I don't see how anybody says otherwise. I also think Ederson rushes the ball with no Rashford - he does that all the time (whether it's a good decision for him to do so or not, as demonstrated in the first half).

That's two players who's ability to play the ball is being hampered. Ederson is stuck in position, Akanji is keeping his distance to not make a stupid mistake.
Akanji has done exactly what he should. Lured rashford into the offside trap, it worked perfectly. No issue on Akanji. Other than a ludicrous interpretation by some corrupt officials.

Agree, if rashford isn’t interfering in play Ederson comes out and clears the ball.

Apologies if this has already been posted but it made my blood boil! Say no more.
We all feel the same but if we allow those cunts to have the chance they will get the decision. No way we could hold out from 70mins. We had another 90% possession but as we all prefidicted..
Yep should have been offside, yep perhaps there was a pen for us too but it's nothing new is it. It's bullshit, it's painful and now all the rags are out of the woodwork claiming the second coming in Rashford (what happened to his 'injury') and the other cheating antagonistic cunts.
I despise them but we weren't good enough. Again.

Let's all take a moment to acknowledge that today is nothing new, City have (for the most part) been screwed over time and again by officials who bend over backwards to help "important clubs." It really is a testament to City's greatness that year after year they're at the top of the league and challenging in Europe in spite of constant cheating against them. You have to assume in any big match that if it's close City will lose the big decisions so they'll always need an extra goal to actually win. Today they didn't score that buffer goal and it bit them in the ass.

if Atwell goes to the monitor to have a look there is no way he gives the goal. Tim Howard had the best summary of it. If you run with the ball practically between your legs for 5 strides you are definitely intefering with play. Not to mention he did a little dummy

The problem today wasn't us. A professional referee has to be better than that today.

So much for kicking on after beating Chelsea away, we've gone backwards just like our passing.
Bent officials, yes, but we should bring back our often breathtaking football to deal with that.
Ah well, onwards and backwards.
