United (A) | Post Match Thread

Good approach play after we got over our nerves in the first half!!!! Even better 2nd half but we have no real cutting edge which seems crazy Always look vulnerable on the break. I can’t see anything in Phil of the person that I thought was going to be one of our greatest ever players. Accommodating the best goal scorer in the world is costing us and we’re struggling to adapt. So few chances being created. I’m no happy clapper but I still don’t think there is anyone that’s better than us so I still think we will win the league.
I do too.

Just got back disgraceful keeping us in for ages the cunts nice to see a few friendly faces off here @M18CTID hope you get back ok pal see you in Leipzig shame about the result

No that would be playing into their hands. However, it would be a travesty if the rags went on to win the league after that outrage. I would be in favour of playing weakened sides against Arsenal to even things up. Particularly if we are safely top four.

Remember,

If Akanji or Ederson attack the offside Rashford and play the ball and it rebounds off
Rashford into the net, its a valid goal from Rashford as either Akanji or Ederson would
have made an intentional play for the ball.

Therefore by Rashford following the ball forward, from an offside position, that same
further forward position from where it rebounded and he scored from would not have
been interpreted as interfering with play or offside and goal would have stood

Savage isn't a Rag. He supported Wrexham and Liverpool growing up and gave a City fan an ear bashing when he was called a Rag on air. He likes City and one of his children supports City.

I think he was a bit pissed off with city when they sacked his buddy Mancini but these days he is very fair about us and constantly slags sutton for being a City hater.
He played for the rags, of course he leans that way. Not that i was slagging him off anyway…. To be fair at least he’s objective on this incident, unlike scholes and jar jar

Our club is far too soft for that.

With all the shit we face, we are still the nicest club around in the face of it all.

Too nice!
Yes, cheeses me off big time. We should be spitting in their half time tea and making them as uncomfortable as possible, soup should be spilled in thier laps. It won't make any difference in how they see us.

Cant believe a professional footballer would run behind/alongside the ball, clearly from 3 or 4 yards off side.

If the correct decision had been made the rags fans would be calling Rashford all the names under the sun.

Might sound childish but this is why I cant support England. The thought of cheering Rashford makes me feel sick
That’s why I stopped having any allegiance to Ingerland, dirty scum players who cheat all day long then expected us to cheer them on for Ingerland. The last comp I actually wanted England to do well was 1998. Since then I couldnt give a shit. In fact I am rather amused when they get beat.

Stop crying ,wtff...admit ,we are shit,be a fucking man .grab a beer
Goals change games. Whether we are shit or not is a separate fucking argument. We’ve lost to plenty of shit teams. Manchester United should have lost had the officials not interfered. I suppose United were great then?

So; all the eggs going into the CL basket, is it?
Looking that way.

On current form we might need to win the fucking thing, to qualify for the Champions League next year.

That first goal was day light robbery,we all agree on that.I am still in shock about it.

Fact is though, yet again we were incapable of managing a 1 goal lead.

Soon as we scored it was revert to type, the new normal at City, playing Dog shit again miss placed pass after miss placed pass.

That first half i felt we were deliberately ignoring Haaland playing to Pep plan of retain possession at all costs, passing to the side, and to the back. Haaland was being ignored. The players were consciously ,very deliberately playing that way.Fearing the Rags more than playing to our strengths. That was a game plan, get to half time 0-0.

Why have we suddenly stopped passing to him ?.One shot on target against Basement dwellers and the Rags.It is astonishing.

Second half we started off much better.Looking to go forward. We score. And just like that,we go to shit again, players making stupid passes, full backs leaving acres of space behind,it is so stupid and Niaeve.

We were winning ffs,but were incapable of managing it.It was shocking.

Sooner or later we are going to have a difficult conversation of where we go with Pep whether we want to have the conversation or not.He has been a great manager for us and won a shit load of Trophies.

The fact is though, based on this season performances, we are regressing badly on the Pitch.Players are not performing. Some of them actually look fat and unfit. The beautiful fast tikki-takka football has morphed in to Franken-football.Slow dull insipid Robotic build up play.Emphasis more about keeping possession than creativity. The creative players look like they have had all their creativity coached out of them.

Pep has committed to us for a further 12 months.Which is good news.....or is it ?

Is 12 months going to be enough time for Pep to rebuild this current team, which cycle right now looks done ?.

I am not over reacting, just being realistic. You stand still in football, and dine out on recent success you end up spending a decade in the wilderness like the Rags have. There is no room for sentiment.

Things are not right at the moment we can all see that in the performances. There needs to be changes,or Top 4 is not guaranteed.

Maybe we need to bring in a better Number 2,more vocal, with more of a personality.Maybe someone like Vinny.Obviously if he would give up the Burnley job. with a view to him becoming heir apparent at City.Maybe Zabba if he has his coaching badges.Something needs to change.

Simple question:

From the picture above, does Ederson stop where he is there, or does he continue to advance on the ball and clear it, IF he thinks Rashford isn’t about to shoot?

It’s not even a serious question, because he obviously would have done.

Then, ask yourself IF Rashford was not between Akanji and the ball, could Akanji have been quicker IF Fernandes was the only player advancing on the ball?

That is TWO key defenders on the play who are affected by Rashford’s movements with the ball…whether he touches it or not.

Ridiculous OVERTURNING of a clear and obvious offside.

As Pep said, you have to understand where you are playing. Then, look at the Ref. It’s getting tiresome.

Thought we were a little better today. Yet again first half wasn’t great but nowhere near as bad as Thursday or Chelsea away. However we still haven’t figured out how to get the best out of Haaland. The man needs service. We also need a few others to pull their weight creatively. We’re far too reliant on KDB. Need more from Mahrez, Foden and Bernardo.

Attwell isn’t capable of top flight referring. He consistently ignored United fouls all match and then to follow up with the worst offside decision I can remember. Quite simply for him to interpret Rashford as not interfering suggests he knows nothing of the game and should find a new profession.

We still seem to concede goals in short bursts, if we concede once we can easily ship 2 or 3. We desperately need to stop that.

We were much better than united everywhere bar the final third. If click in attack we’re still capable of a decent run but need to do so soon.

BT Score show all saying should be offside. Even rag Robbie Savage. All the ex pros Savage/benali/Akinfenwa/sutton all mocking Walton.

Walton just said Rashford was 3 or 4 yards away from the ball…. YCMIU
Just watched that. Savage had him on the ropes and Walton was in circles.

He will never disagree with a ref decision on air so that he isn’t shunned by them.
