I don't know why BUT that goal by Ilkay Gundogan 12 seconds in the FAcup final does for me,
Can it get any better, I don't think it can.

Also it killed United Stone dead, their fans were beaten and waved the white flag, even the SOS VAR pen only made the pain worst for them because Ilkay Gundogan did it again only this time it was the stake in the heart,

they will talk about that moment forever, MANCHESTER CITY BEST MOMENT IN A DARBY
Even better than Edin's second on 23/10/11.

Wont change my vote from Ilkay but having just watched the match back how well did John Boy play? Eccles Blue must have been particularly proud
Oh I am, I truly am. When he nearly knocked himself out heading the bar to make sure that ball didn’t go in I was concerned he would knock himself out but so proud as well. :-)

Gundo's strikes, especially the first, are sublime. Rodri and Big John slapped them around in midfield and were everywhere. Bernie was up for it too.

The defence collectively were great, Ortega was excellent and anywhere else would be the no. 1, Kyle is definitely speeding up with age, proper Peter Pan! Ruby had a great game and I thought Akanji was a real handful.

I don't think Jack had his best game but not helped by the softest penalty decision ever, which did play on his mind. Ditto Kev. And yet even on a meh day, still gets 2 assists. Not even shocked when yet another utter stonewall penalty was glossed over. He is a very special player.

Lovely to see Phil, Eric and Nat get minutes too.

The celebrations were great, loved the way Eddie pushed Julian into holding the cup, just like he did with the PL trophy! Such a wonderful togetherness about this group, just brilliant.

El Pep, what it meant to him, made me teary too! We are in the glory, glory times, just one more........

Gotta say, the clips of them arriving back in Manchester and serenading Elton John, no words!!!!!!!

I am assuming you weren’t well enough to travel Sheila? John Boy was amazing
I wasn’t well enough but I was watching BBC. I switched on as you were all doing the Poznan when they announced the other team. I was grinning like mad. Then when Gundog scored so quickly my scream must have been heard on the other side of the road!!
Although I was super proud of John Boy I was proud of the whole team. The togetherness is unbelievable. :-)

He does come across very well in front of the cameras. Mind you, most of the team do. I guess they get some sort of media training, at most of the big clubs.

Media training of this lot probably at a minimum. They're what Pep wants and looks for in players - intelligent, humble, professional, hard-working - and that comes over.

Obviously has to be Gundo. But having watched the match back with the sound and the fury of being in the stadium having passed — in a sense, watching it properly for the first time — by God but John Boy was brilliant. How has he become this skilled midfielder? He always looked comfortable on the ball as a defender but he's gone to a whole other level. Even taking shots from outside the box (his one shot was on course to join the orbiting satellites, tbf)!
Cast your minds a long way back. Like so many who come to City, he was getting a fair amount of flak on here in his first season. He would play a good match, marred by a horrendous mistake in the middle of it. Strictly as a defender, he has ironed that out of his game almost completely, and added another string to his bow.
Pep is the supreme pedagogue. He sees potentialities in players that they don't see themselves. How are we going to replace that guy? Answer is we aren't.
No, I think all in all, my vote must go to Johnny, Johnny Stones. By the way, he loves that song coming down from the stands.
Remember this?

Stones has always had it in him. Pep has got the best of it to come out.

Spot on with this post, they didn't know what hit them.
One other point is that the celebrations after the goal was the loudest I have ever heard at a game, everyone went crazy.
