Embarrassingly emotional thread.

That last mad 5 minutes aside we were much the better side. That 5 minutes doesn’t happen and everyone’s buzzing saying we’ve steadied the ship etc.

You can’t blame Pep for Nunes being a **** for their first. You can’t blame Pep for no one putting pressure on the ball for a good 5 seconds before Martinez puts Amad in for the second. You can’t blame Pep for Ederson (again) making a complete **** of himself by rushing out when he had no chance of getting it,

Mad, ridiculous individual errors. That’s it. Fuck all to do with Pep.

I suggest some of you log off and sleep on it you sound like 6 year old girls.

If we had got any positive result out of that game it would have papered over huge cracks...we deserved nothing from it...last 5 mins or not as the performance was awful. we only got away with it upto that point as the rags were spineless in their approach

Im not blaming Pep however...Im blaming the players...too many are finished....the mainstay of the team or spine is gone....KDB, Gundo, Walker all done. They are finished at the top level - we are carrying them every game....stones and Ake to are an issue as they are never fit....especially Stones. Bernardo has ran himself into the ground..
Yes Nunes was at fault and ultimately isnt good enough but again that was known before the game....Ederson is rash - always has been ..nothing new

The focus on individual errors is covering up the much bigger issues.

People want to blame individuals but this team has finished its cycle.....a huge rebuild is needed....

We wont finish top 6 this year or maybe even top 8....

If Villa have anything about them they will run us off the park next game.....it wont even be difficult.

What has happened to our press and ball recovery?
Somewhat ironic that the hardest, most committed, "tackle" was a foul in our own penalty area.
The most abject display of ineptitude since the takeover by some distance. Problem is we are beating it every game at present.

I'm not sure we should even pin our hopes on a rebuild in the coming transfer windows.

Can we really trust the current regime given their incredibly poor judgement with both incoming signings and the players we've allowed to leave in the last couple of years?

I think we can trust them to identify the players, the biggest worry is finishing outside the top 4. Without CL I don't see us attracting the calibre of player we'll need. The likes of Musiała and Wirtz will have the world and his missus after them.

Just too many players not good enough now for various reasons. Some have been great servants but age catches up with us all. Some just terrible signings.

We need to replace:

Walker
Grealish
Gundo
KDB
Doku
Savinho
Nunes

The worry is based on our player acquisitions in the last two years I have zero faith that we will sign players of the right calibre to get us winning again.

Realistically, one of Stones or Ake need to be moved on too. Both in their 30s and both perma-injured. We can’t afford to have them both any more. One is enough.

There's no intentionality to our play lately, so many times we play short corners/freekicks and within a couple passes it's back at our keeper, why? We're quite obviously not doing routines or working better angles to cross the ball in.

Then at 87 mins 1 up and you'd think we should be keeping it in their third and taking the sting out the game but no we brainlessly boot it in the box at fucking no body stupid play. We've given them the shot in the arm their season needed.

Putting this form into perspective

5th in the table , 4 points away from tenth/twelfth, if we lose against Villa we could end the day in 9th if results go against us.

pretty much this ,huge rebuild 2 midfielders and a right back would steady the ship ,providing they buy well of course , lets hope this new sd is up to the job ,

He was fucking abysmal today. An embarsssing performance in which he made Harry Maguire look like an elite defender

Not sure what else Haaladn can do besides try and run himself into the ground closing people down which will ultimately make zero difference as our midfield is doing no backing up either.......Haaland isnt the problem......the named players of KDB, Gundo, Walker are the probelm - they are the past and should be resigned to it.
