United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'll take any derby win. Nowhere near our best and still should have had 6.
We defended well today and I'm wondering if we set up to do that as opposed to dominating the ball.
I was frustrated by the amount of times we gave it away unnecessarily in our defensive 3rd and better teams will punish us for doing that.
I'm not normally one to criticise after a win but I have to agree, much better, far more dynamic but we were giving the ball away an awful lot which seems to becoming a bit of a trend with this "new" team. I'm not sure that would have been good enough to beat the likes of the current Liverpool or Arsenal teams. That said, I think we would have won more convincingly with Bobb in the starting lineup. I guess we'll know more next week.

Early doors though, and I still think we have the makings of another fantastic side that can go on and do what we've done in the past decade all over again.

Good performance not great, but players fighting for each other again was great to see.

BIg Erl's first goal looked like vintage us again. Foden looked like he enjoyed that, he's the man now and he needs to pick up that KDB torch run with it.

I enjoyed that!
There was some dodgy passing at times, but a great performance from the forwards.

Great to see a stop to the slow slow build-up and the constant backwards and sideways passing. Counter attacking was quick and incisive - Great improvement! Still early days and there's loads of room for improvement, particularly in midfield, but can't not be happy with today's performance overall. Very pleased for Khusanov - I always rated him even after his nightmare debut mistake vs Chelsea
He's going to be immense for us!

One of those days when we were relatively clinical against a fairly forlorn opponent, so rather like opening day at Wolves. Couldn’t read too much into then and can’t read too much into today. We need to play more games and against better opposition before we can determine any progress.

Excellent result, compounded by the very fact it is against 'them'.

For me personally very average performance against a terrible team - why on earth they let Rashford and Garnacho leave i beyond me, although I don't give a feck anyway - that will see us struggling against better defensively organised opposition and suffering against really top teams.

Even with injuries I don't see where this team goes.

And yet hugely positive is that Phil is back, Erling is back to scoring and that goalkeeper, we all knew he is top 1% shot-stopper, but effect it has on our defence is like 300% improvement.

Just what the doctor ordered

I wanted a result over a performance but we got a bit of both,
Something to take forward with and work on, the work rate was better and players wanted it, Haaland was outstanding today both up and down the pitch, even defending and then could have had 4 or 5 goals, but the work rate today needs to be there for the rest of the season and lead from the front,

The full-back roles that the cover players are being asked to play by Pep are still very much a weakness; better teams and wingers will hurt us big time and will cost us in the long run

I was 100% wrong on Donnarumma playing today. I thought it could cost us today playing him, but in fact that save no other keeper get a touch and turns it around the post
