United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Totally honest, it was a midtable level performance from us but we faced an even shitter side that can only dream of midtable with their billion pound squad so we still smashed the cunts.

There is still a lot of issues for us om that evidence but tonight we enjoy the win and Manchester once again is blue.

Brilliant result and performance today. On reflection it is evident that we are changing the style of play. Dominating possession yes but getting the ball for far quicker and sometimes going more direct. Certainly it will take time but very encouraging, suspect we may not win it this season but building for another sustained champions parade
Not quite how I saw it. We gave the ball away a lot and had less than 50% possession, I thought there was a lot of kick and rush about it from both sides, probably partly due to the occasion, but we clearly had the class to beat the rags.

We seem to be struggling a lot keeping hold of the ball though, it's been a clear pattern over the past 3 matches and that's why we lost at Brighton. I think we have the makings of a great new side but definitely need to keep hold of the ball a lot better than we are doing.

Donnarumma - Excellent debut. Looked secure and made 1 world class save. Just his presence alone is helpful. Clearly needs practice with his kicking.

Khusanov - If we can just stop him ploughing his man every now and then, we have solved our RB/RCB issue. Potential out of his arse.

O’Reilly - Some nice touches. Looks better going forward than backwards. He was often double teamed, but handled it well. More mature than his years and a lovely nutmeg to start the first Haaland goal.

Dias - Solid defensive Captain’s performance.

Gvardiol - Solid. Nothing bad, which is exactly what you want from your CBs! Helped Nico out of a jam or two.

Rodri - Wasteful, esp early on, and got caught too often. However, he’s only just on his way back and crucial to the structure of the team.

Reijnders - You can see he has it, but was a step off the pace for much of the game. Finally found himself late on and could have finished an improving performance with a great goal on the break. Excellent engine.

Foden - Brilliant return performance. That’s the kind of performance that made him POTY. Took his goal very, very well, too.

Doku - Strong performance, 2 assists, looks like he’s finding his groove.

Bernardo - Poorest performance in quite some time, and I love the guy. Dorgu pocketed him, and he knew it. Showed his age against strong, pacy opponents. Was surprised he wasn’t replaced at least 15 mins earlier as he wasn’t getting past Dorgu in 10 games.

Haaland - Most complete performance I’ve seen from him in a City shirt. His leadership is really starting to come through. His goals were sublime “Haaland” goals and I’m gutted he didn’t get his hat-trick, albeit not as gutted as he will be. Absolutely 9.9/10 performance, with the width of the post stealing the perfect score. #1 in Golden Boot race already, and it just shows you what he can be for the team if we feed him the balls he is craving all game.

Barely got out of 3rd gear
Excellent Haaland, Foden and Doku, and a few others.
Still a bit rusty, especially after an international break, but improved after the Spuds shambles.
Onwards

As an aside
Jon Champion is a twat, bigging up the rags at every opportunity, until the third.

And the rags' central midfield is an absolute joke. They must regret getting rid of McThuggery.
Even without the distraction of Europe, they're no better than mid table fodder, hopefully worse

It's hilarious that Fatty Shaw is a starting defender for United. They look bobbins and Amorim surely cannot last much longer.
They have Chelsea next week - cannot see them getting anything from that.
Agree, but who cares!

Wow. Take a bow every player and supporter. You were immense today. You did the job for out great Ricky Hatton. Alot of emotion was there to see. I also want to say thank you to Big Erl. I asked him to step up today ( I got some flak) but imo he had to do it
By Jesus he fucking he did. The best game for us today . Also Donna he gave us so much presence and calm. I love the big guy already. Now blues when you all get home raise a glass gir Ricky and City.

Good win but...
Should have scored a few more. Also Reijnders needs to be quicker in the ball - I'll be kind and say he hasn't fully adjusted to the pace of the Prem.
Finally, a big call out to Donnarumma, who made a great save at 2-0. He also totally dominated his box at corners and for crosses. Teams will have to really earn their corn to beat him between the sticks.
Although Diaz and Khusanov were very good, and If I must be critical elsewhere, Khusanov has to be much more careful in the box being close to attackers. If the ref hadn't declared open season on defensive fouls in that game, he could have given a pen away. The Utd player was waiting for contact and went down far too easily - on another day, that would be a pen. That said, the bear hugs on Haaland throughout that game were rediculous.

First six games of any season are about getting the results and getting match sharpness. We didn’t have a proper pre season hence I thought we would take more games than normal to get up to speed and it shows. But the result gives everyone a lift. Foden seems to have his spark back, Doku with two assists, minutes in Rodri, Donna’s save, Khusa’s covering all plus points. We couldn’t get to grips though with overloads on our left, too often it was two against one or just far too much space allowed for them to get the ball under control. But they were utter garbage, arguably the worst side we have played this season but who gives a fuck. Need a good result on Thursday to take into Sunday.

Watch the mibs at 9pm when everyone has fucked off they’ll be looking for women children disabled and elderly

We played like he fought. Awesome City, keep up this momentum.
