United (H) - Post Match Thread

I’m still out and it’s not looking good for me going home anytime soon! Loved that, best none title winning day at the Etihad for years.

To be fair to United, until we scored our second it was an even game, they were actually the better team at times. Their heads went when we got the acing though and they went in for half time and never came out.

We fucking dominated like you’ve never seen before in that second half. de Bruyne was excellent, Bernardo was everywhere, Grealish had his best game in a City shirt,

Got sent this off a mate…

Is it doctored? Please tell me it’s true and Sky actually showed it?!
It's very real blue :)

Some sloppy play in first half & too much space in midfield but Fook me we came out like a machine in the 2nd half.
There approach first half was sticking pogba on Rodri and it somewhat nullified our patterns of play, however, and I think it’s discounted far to often, we are conditioned better than any team in Europe, we wear teams down…. I love Bernardo’s ability to go through the gears when he sniffs this, from 50 minutes on today he put on a masterclass and he was everywhere, there can’t be a fitter player in the league, it’s insane!

Just got home, what a brilliant day. Best we have played for a while, second half we were sublime and it really should have been 6 or 7. De Bruyne probably edges MOTM, but Grealish was a close second. You saw today the reason why Pep bought Jack, great dinking runs where the ball seems glued to his feet. Fingers crossed he can have a really good end to the season

This is the first home derby in a while where Guardiola hasn't allowed us to go gung ho at ManUre from the get go. We did what we needed to do in the first half & fortunately went in a goal to the good.

In the second half, we found our rhythm & took football liberties. It broke them that much, the Rags were literally stood still like training cones. Beatings like this hurt & take a long time to get over. They're in total, utter shock.

Our run in looks better on paper than The Dippers, but football isn't played on paper. We've got to embrace that second half performance & reproduce it for the next 8 weeks. If we can manage that, we'll be OK & might even pick up a cup or two along the way.

A brilliant second half from the boys in blue. Thought the ref was very lenient on them and Maguire was very lucky not to be have been booked before his cynical foul on KDB. Them lot are light years behind us and we proved today we're the best team in the league.
All the post match stuff seemed to be how poor the Rags are - can't help thinking it would have been different if it had been the Dippers winning 4-1. Every City player was on it today. Some real quality out there and an amazing atmosphere.

The Foden non-penalty call was ridiculous. I do think refs galvanize us sometimes with their petulant displays of applying the rules.
Absolutely ludicrous call. But Harry Maguire is the gift that keeps on giving. Foden absolutely sticking it to him all match long.

And Foden’s shoulder charge which knocked either Elanga or Wan-Bissaka off the ball was so funny to watch on replay on US TV. In the semi-close-up, Foden comes racing in and knocks him off the ball and right out of frame. Thing of beauty.
