Good to see the Derby training session. Sergio clearly won’t be playing but apart from that am hopeful Pep will not rest many.

Realistically I think Dave will drop to the bench with Tuesday in mind and Gundogan will play his normal position and Sterling will come in, otherwise we might see Danilo and Stones instead of Walker and Vinnie, I don't think the rotation will be too dramatic

Pep isn't stupid. No way is he going to gut the starting line-up today. As for Tuesday,it's a mountain to climb. We could go 4-0 up and one goal from them would still kill us. You never know and all that but we might as well be realists about this and, anyway I still think people are exaggerating the difficulties of playing Wednesday/Saturday/Tuesday.

Look, we have a chance to make today one of the glorious memories of a lifetime and people are going meh? Jesus Christ.

Thought I'd seen the worst of the half and half scarf type of supporters but this takes the fecking biscuit.
On travelling to the Liverpool CL game on the train to London were a bunch of Greek guys who had flown in from Athens - all (supposed) hard core Liverpool supporters -shirts, scarfs the lot.
So just got in the train to come up to the derby and the same bunch of twats on the train but all dolled up in Rag gear!! WTF!!
On talking with them they have no qualms in stating that they support both teams because they are/were fans of Michael Owen.
Give me fucking strength!!!!!

I think people are partially missing the point about our prospects on Tuesday. It isn't just the three goal deficit we have to overcome, it's the fact that no away goals were scored. This will probably fuck us up even if we play a great game. I would have been optimistic had it been 1-3 but 0-3? Its almost certainly a bridge too far. Lets win the title today and worry about Tuesday night after that.

Wow.

no silva and probably no aguero worries me.....

GJ has doen nothign to convince me had can turn a game on his own like Kun can. At the moment he is a poacher and helps well with build up but he doesn't do enough to affect games on a consistent basis.

Missing Silva makes us 50% weaker its as simple as that. I would love to see bernanrdo silva central if that is the case with sterling wide. Illy has been so hit and miss at times i don't think he should be playing. He is an absolute class player played in the right way but he isn't adaptable as others are.

To be 'flat' & not bothered about beating the rags, in a situation like this, defeats the whole point of watching the earlier part of the season. This is what it has all been about. And all the shite of relegations & Swales & everything. Enjoying times like this.

If we win the title today, I wouldn't swap this season for two Champions Leagues, let alone one measly game v the scouse scum.
Indeed

I'd rather win the league on the last day in future, if the shoulder-shrugging attitudes being expressed on here are anything to go by. Hope the players are of a different mindset today.

Why?

He had Wednesday off:...

so did the rest of the team

We shouldn't be resting anyone.. .we should be going full strength but Pep is clearly going to prioritise which means a much more difficult game and potential dropping points. Even at full strength turning the liverppol result around is incredibly difficult as if they score one we have to score 5 (which we can - but we have to stop them scoring and that is very unlikely ) - so in essence Pep could be sacrificing a derby win and winning the league at this point for a game which eh si very unlikely to turn around
