Have you noted when the ball on the halfway line is played either over the defenders or through the defenders just how far they have to run helplessly to stop the attack. We are wide open and so I don’t see how we are saving energy allowing teams to catch us out when we are often inside the other teams half. I know it’s to try and suppress the other teams attacking ability, but it’s not working..

We are still way too slow.

OK, how can we be non-stagnant now with the injuries we have? What should we do differently?

City’s 2017/18 team was amazing playing high octane football putting teams to the sword. That’s the type of football I love to watch. That City team was incredible and far away from the team of today.
To be fair to pep I think that’s what he had planned for this season with Savinho and Doku as the “Sterling and sane” with pace on the wings in behind the fullbacks. However the injury to Rodri and now others has completely thrown that out of the window.

Haven't seen anything of united this season so thought I'd have a look tonight. By way of scouting report, if they lose Fernandes, they are relegation fodder.

And Savinho & Doku not being as good as Sterling or Sane

Most successful clubs in Europe tend to change coaches on a regular basis to avoid teams / tactics getting stale.

Although we've been unbelievably successful over Pep's tenure, it's been obvious to me that our squad and tactics have been getting stale over the past two years.

In my opinion, last season's title win was one of the greatest team achievements in the modern era.
All clubs in Europe tend to change coaches on a regular basis, not just the successful ones.

While the likes of Bayern change their coach a lot yet more of the than not consistently win things, You can look at the same way of running things staggered from the top level all the way down the EFL pyramid from successful teams to unsuccessful teams.

Madrid change their coach a lot and win a lot of trophies. But when you really look at what they’ve won, they haven’t won back-to-back La Liga titles for 17 years and before that not for 19 years.

While Brighton change their coach a lot and keep improving year-after-year and a deemed a success; Spurs also change coaches on a regular basis, even bringing in top level coaches, and continue to win nowt and are deemed a failure.

The likes of West Brom, Norwich and Watford change their coach all the time and are up and down the to the Championship like a tart’s knickers.

Pep deserves to be given time to turn this around, and I’m not talking about the next month, I mean the next few transfer windows. Build something new. There isn’t anyone out there I’d rather have as our coach.

our squad and tactics have been getting stale over the past two years.

The past two years: that's the period since December 2022. In that period we played the best football under Pep, humiliating Real, Bayern, Arsenal, Liverpool, beating them by 3-4 goals, going 26 games unbeaten in Europe, a record in the entire history of the European club competitions, and winning a record 4 in a row title, despite players like KDB and Haaland missing months of football.

If that's getting stale, I want more of it.

Other clubs change managers because they don't have Pep. We have Pep, we won’t change him. It's that simple.
