I said at the end of the season that as a club we had gone backwards. We downgraded from Tevez, to Negredo and Dzeko and then ended up with Bony, same again with De Jong, to Javi Garcia and then to Fernando. When i stated this last summer, i was massively criticised by various other members on here for my negative opinions, now we are all in the same boat. This is why i try and avoid these forums and i rarely come on here because you cannot have an opinion without being shot down for being "wrong" or being called a "doom merchant" or even a "rag". This forum is very much like the red and white kop forum sometimes, too many fans hold up this barrier in front of them and have this false optimism of the team just to portray that they are more of a better fan than other fans who have a different view which is less positive. I hope after todays performance, people really start to take their blue tinted specs off and really smell the coffee. It has now finally hit home to many blues, that as a squad we have gone backwards since we first won the league under Mancini.
As for Pellegrini, i like the bloke, he seems a really nice fella but as a manager hes very ordinary. Mancini did not really deserve to be sacked in the first place and one difference you see with a Mancini City side and a Pellegrini City side is that we seem to be beaten comfortably by average sides under Pellegrini. We have been completely thumped by Liverpool and Tottenham and we look absolutely awful at the back. Under Mancini, we held the best defensive record for 3 seasons running and we were rarely beaten by more than one goal. Even when we lost under Mancini, we still showed a lot more fight than this side under Pellegrini, there is a vulnerability about this side now. When one of your star players cries over a Birthday cake and a few months later is given vice captaincy, you know you have a manager who is allowed to be taken the complete piss out of. We want a manager who is the BOSS, who is in charge and does not take any shit. When Yaya Toure kicks and stamps his feet, Pellegrini lets him do whatever he pleases and this lack of authority has set the tone for the rest of the squad. No wonder the players aren't fighting for the shirt, because they are not being made to fight for it.
Thank fuck we have Guardiola in charge next season, a manager who can reshape the club from top to bottom. Too many times this season we have had a side not willing to get out of 2nd gear, under Pep they will be lucky to get out of 6th gear or else they will not be playing for Manchester City football club. We need to get rid of the medical team because they are dreadful and 3/4 of our squad needs to be replaced. We need a serious serious revamp next season. We lack an energy and an exuberance within our side what Tottenham have shown this season, this is why we are getting completely dicked when we come up against younger and more energetic sides. Kolarov, Demichelis, Mangala, Fernando, Navas, Bony... please just fuck off. Sterling can do one if he doesn't improve as well. As for Delph, i don't think he will ever be city class and Yaya's time has also come. Great servant to the club and will go down as one of the best to ever wear a blue shirt, but his legs have completely gone and he hasn't shown the same desire this season as he has in previous seasons, his time has come to move him on.
