I've been saying for at least a year all our players need shooting practice. We had 5 times more chances than them but they have to go in or its pointless. We don't know how to kill teams off...we won't be considered a great team till we add that to our game.

I agree Fernando should have started, but I honestly don't think you can protect Demichelis, no matter what you do. He was running out at people, completely putting himself out of the game when in completely un-threatening situations, I honestly can't explain it.

You can at least stop people from running at him by having an extra man in front. Plus, Yaya then is free to roam about. Even when Fernando came on, he still had Yaya almost as a 2nd striker.

Second half, 34 year old Yaya was being asked to play a pressing game v Utd's back 4.

I've rarely seen such incompetence, even at City.

If we don't get top 4 it's actually not a disaster, it's not as bad as Chelsea not getting it. We actually have a decent squad that if they're all playing well should walk the league. Pep will get them playing well and he should also be able to get some pretty decent additions based on his reputation even without CL football. Also because of pep players will stay. However he will not be able to sign the best of the best and it'll be a bit crap not having CL football for a year

If Fernando had started, the worst result would have been a draw.

He left a fucking big hole in the centre of our midfield, totally failling to recognise that Demichelis was likely to struggle, & we should just be thankful that Utd are shite otherwise we would have been 4 down before Fernando came on.

Thought the team played ok under the circumstances of being handicapped by one of the worst managers we've ever had.

Spot on. We can thank our lucky stars that Sterling got injured because there is no way this manager would have swallowed his pride and and admitted his mistake of leaving the midfield too light.
