If you told me that was a real quote from a paper i would believe you and not even be that upset by it, i am becoming numb to a lot of reporting.

Is it still true that Man City have produced more premier league players than any other top flight academy? Definitely saw that somewhere, but struggling to find the quote now! You should see the jaws drop when I slam dunk that piece of information down a rags gob!
I think it's more players in major leagues across UEFA jurisdiction (top 2 leagues in the major countries, top league in others)

Cheers, Serg

Can folk please stop quoting that picture of Shreck?
That is the very phone I have, and now it disgusts me whenever it rings.
I may 'lose' it later and get a replacement on the insurance, after first removing the sim card.

Nice colour though.

Is it Chelsea Blue or City Blue (please not us please)

I can't believe I'm saying this, but fair play to Giggs for starting Wilson last night.

There's a lot of talented young players in this league who simply aren't getting a chance. Most other managers would have played it safe and not started Wilson.

Obviously I don't buy into this whole "United way" crap everywhere, but it's good to see a young English player get a chance in the first team.

Although I did find it funny that Giggs, aged 40, got subbed on for the other teenager Lawrence.

Play it safe? Giggs had no reason to - knows he's out of a job in a week, knows United have nothing to play for, and a cynical person might say he did the sentimental thing to boost his own reputation. If United were playing for anything last night, those two lads would have been watching from their sofas. It was basically PR, a bit like when Mancini brought Reece Wabara on against Bolton a few years ago at the end of the season.

Again, let's see where these two are after United get through their 'war chest' and then let's see the (non-)criticism they get for blocking the paths of these youngsters when an Edinson Cavani or Kevin Strootman is lining up in red.

Nothing but a shot at good PR and they got lucky with his magnificent strikes from all of 7 and 6 yards out.

They will milk it for all its worth given that after an equally mesmerising start, old jozzypants has done for all intents and purpose sweet fuck all yet is still the next incarnation of Pele/Maradona according to the sycophants.

Maybe a little cynical, but you're probably right.

It was still a big call to play Wilson ahead of van Persie IMO.

And I agree with you that these youngsters probably won't get anywhere near the team after their summer spending, I was just saying it's good to see a young English player get a chance in the Premiership.

There's far more talented young players in this league than people think, they just aren't getting the opportunities.

From BBC:

Daily Telegraph sports news correspondent Ben Rumsby on Twitter: Value of Manchester United has dropped by 11% since Sir Alex Ferguson retired according to Forbes annual soccer team valuation.

Januzaj's agent:

"I can only say that he's the best paid youngster in the world. He earns more than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi did when they were 19. That means a lot and I'm proud of it.

"We could have waited a little longer and seen how much United wanted him to stay and how much other teams were interested in him.

"All big clubs were knocking on the door, especially PSG.

"Five minutes before we signed a new deal, an advisor of their Qatari chairman called me with an astonishing offer.

"Because Adnan was going to be a free agent at the end of the season, they were ready to offer him anything he wanted, wages and signing on fee.

"But money has never been a deciding factor in his choices. It wasn't important when he chose to join Manchester United. He could have signed a better deal at Anderlecht."

Hmm...
