When United bought Andy Cole for £7m in 1995 that was a British transfer fee record.

When United bought Juan Sebastian Veron for £28.1m in 2001 that was a British transfer fee record.

When United bought Rio Ferdinand for £29.1m in 2002 that was a British transfer fee record.

City broke their own personal transfer record in 2002 by the way, we bought Jon Macken from Preston North End for the sum of £5m.

But yes, you're quite right, it's City who have inflated the transfer market......
What about the likes of Keane and so? I remember reading somewhere that Fergiescum broke the british transfer record 8 consecutive times before winning the League for the first time, don't have it to hand though.

They borrowed money they didn't have to fund Ferguson when he first turned up, conveniently forgotten about that one aswell.

think Pallister was a record fee

Over inflated the market. You lot are cheeky fuckers. Who paid 30 million for Rio and how many years ago.

The figures I could find included when a foreign side purchased a player from a British club so probably masked some of the British to British records. For example Marseille bought Chris Waddle in 1989 for £4.25m which was more than the £3.75m United spent on Roy Keane. The Keane transfer was probably a record between 2 British clubs at the time. United also broke the record (British to British) in 1989 when they bought Gary Pallister for £2.3m.

You are trolling surely. The only reason we have to spend so much money is because yourselves & Chelsea have massively over inflated the transfer market. You seem to forget that it wasn't so long ago that you lot were trying to tap Rooney up. After sending you packing we then had Chelsea making a move.

I think you will find that we still have 20 league titles which is 2 more than our nearest challengers & 16 more than you. You are still merely blips on our radar , as they say, come back when you've won 21.

Not only that, but all this moaning that they have to spend a shit load to catch up with us and Chelsea is ironic because if the Glazers hadn't loaded the club with so much debt then they would be able to easily compete in the transfer market with us. It's not our fucking fault that their owners have creamed off over £500 million since they pitched up at The Swamp in 2005 but the way some of them go on, you'd think we were to blame for that as well as everything else that's wrong with the game.

Only difference between us and the rest is that they are spending money they don't have. Fuck the lot of em, the hypocrisy of it all is beyond belief, whatever we do we will never have a legacy as any other team has or would have had. Are we bovvered? are we fuck, lets just keep winning while we listen to the whining.. !

Just seen this on facebook

Why do the ragescontinually go on about how little we mean to them yet. Is the irony lost on them that they invest our forums, sing constantly about us during games and always have to bring us up in conversation. Is obsessed the new bitter?

Take your blue tinted specs off mate, City smashed the British transfer fee record when we paid £45,000 for Bobby Kennedy from Kilmarnock in 1961.
