Why would you guys reffer to Phil Jones as "phil beckenbauer baresi jones"?he has his own style, own identity and will leave his own leg behind.

We 'reffer', (sic ), to him as that because we are City fans, and therefore have a ready wit and sense of humour that you sorry rags could only dream of.
Every time Jones launches into yet another ill-conceived challenge, he resembles an explosion in a prosthetic limb factory, on top of which he possesses all the timing accuracy of a broken sun dial.
That, coupled with a visage like a melted Halloween mask, helps explain our ridicule
I'll explain Clevinho to you tomorrow, as you have had enough information to assimilate for one day.

Ok fair enough, I'm kinda hoping he comes back now tbh, even if its only so I can find out what a single transferable vote is.. ;-)

I'll let my attack dog explain that one to you.

I am sure he will, he has put me straight a few times politically when I have dared to express my ill advised opinion.

Unlike the rags, we take banter in the best possible taste, City fans are famous for it.. Fetlocks has bitten me a few times but as mrs death says... You must have deserved it ;-).. Now where is that rag, I need some lunchtime entertainment.

im not saying phil jones is better than edwards, baresi or beckenbauer, but he could turn out to be better or worse than them at the end of his career. too early to say now but he has started off well imho.

I reckon you should give Oddschecker a ring mate, and see what price they will give you on Jones winning the Ballon D'or twice like Beckenbauer.
When they have finished rolling around on the floor laughing, and changed their Calvin's, let me know what odds they offered.
And I will double them for you.

Plus the rags paid £16.5 million for him which is quite a lot for a player who came through their academy as one of Fergie's Fledglings. Still, he plays for nowt because he loves the club and the privilege of pulling on the shirt.

Would our pet rag care to offer an explanation for Jones being selected for the full England squad immediately after signing for the rags despite being overlooked while playing in the PL for two seasons with Blackburn?
