Some little corkers in here on ""The great Anderson enigma" such as
Anderson had been signed the previous summer after two seasons with Porto, Ferguson convinced by a glowing endorsement from his brother, Martin. In his recent book, the former manager recalled: "Martin said: 'Alex, he's better than Rooney.'"
or this from the man himself
In September, yet again, Anderson said: "I think it's a big season for me. However, I don't want to say that and then pick up another injury. I have often started seasons well, played six or seven games and then got injured. I'll tell you at the end of the season if it's been a big season for me."
had me in stitches

Manchester United fans have slammed the club for selling discounted tickets to students in a bid to boost Old Trafford attendances.
The club sometimes offers a few hundred tickets to Manchester University Students' Union for fixtures that have not sold out.
The discounted tickets - priced £24 - would normally be sold at £37 to season ticket holders.
They are currently being offered to any Manchester University student who can show their ID for the up-coming game against Cardiff. The university has 40,000 students.
As the Reds have struggled this season under new manager David Moyes, some games at Theatre of Dreams have not been sell-outs and the club has moved to fill the stadium.
A spokeswoman for Manchester Students' Union said: "We're an outlet for Manchester United. They set the prices. We don't get them for every game, just on an ad hoc basis.. “We get a couple of hundred at most. United set the price and we just sell them. We've been doing it now for a year.
"It's been quite popular with the students. They go quite quickly but obviously they have to show a valid student ID and have to be prepared to show it at the ground."
Some United fans vented their frustration on Twitter.
Gary Sandiford wrote: "What a joke? Talk about looking after your season ticket holders!"
Paul Caton tweeted directly to the club: "I'm a season ticket holder. What about me?"
United did not respond to requests for comment.
Fair play to United* on this. More clubs should do the same. Personally, I'd like to see spare tickets discounted and sold to (perhaps) less well off sections of society, too but, I can understand the long term benefits of getting "tomorrow's leaders" inside, while you're at it.
*God, that hurt.
