They don't appear to be that successful in the transfer window thus far, so have the swamp dwellers got a good enough squad to make top 4 next season or will someone come on the blind side?

For them to drop out, someone has to step up. I can't really see Spurs or Liverpool being consistent enough

As for the transfer market - they don't seem to have many realistic targets other than Schnaderline. They need a striker unless they are hoping Depay, Rooney and Hernandez will do the business

I don't know. If it wasn't for the Doughnut thief last season, they wouldn't have made top 4 IMO.

But if they sell him, I think they'll get Lloris who would be a good replacement

They don't have a prayer of winning the league though, no matter how much the pro-United media will try and tell us. Smalling and Jones has both signed new deals, that says it all about thier current ambition

I don't believe they will get Lloris.

To be fair, they spent last season trying to fit all of their attacking players into the team and failing miserably. If they're setting up to play 4-3-3, then they probably don't need more than one more decent striker. But they definitely need a lot more strengthening in midfield for that formation.

Ramos has came out and said 'he's not negotiating with anyone'. Scousers stock piling a few players whilst the raggies are buying no one. Can't see Rooney bagging 30 goals a season next year so who's going to take up the slack from van Persie and falcao?

Might be an interesting scrap for 4th this year. I can't see the raggies putting small club city back in our place.

What slack from van Persie and Falcao?

They only scored 14 goals between them. The former had ten and the latter four.

No top 4 without flappy and those 14 goals even if spurs and the dippers don't pull their fingers out.

Right now, United look like they're going to be in a close battle with Liverpool for 4th.

I have absolutely no idea what they're doing with their striker situation, it seems bizarre.

To be honest I don't even think the rags know what they're doing with their striking positions.

This was bound to happen as their club was run completely from top to bottom by one man it now resembles a rudderless ship.

They got 4th because Liverpool were so bad and they somehow found a way to long ball it which picked them up a few points.

We know it and the real rags know it too.

to be fair its early days and nobody has signed anyone yet so unless they pull out some class players from somewhere
they will do what they always do that is scrape enough results through a few decent performances
dodgy decisions from buckling refs and pure luck to be there or thereabouts, and if they don't get through the qualifiers
their January window is fucked aswell
for me the same as last season scrapping for fourth

I'm pretty sure it will have been seen around the footballing world last season just how shite their football was (barring the odd game.... derby at OT being one) and how bizarre a lot of the decisions by the manager were.

Maybe footballers really don't want to go there and play under that dinosaur.

Seems they replaced one poor tactician with another, just with a more fancy name.
