Can't sell out 18,000 seats!!
San Jose Earthquakes are offering free Manchester United shirts to fans who buy tickets for Tuesday night's clash with Louis van Gaal's tourists.
Tickets remain on sale at the 18,000-capacity Avaya Stadium and in an attempt to boost numbers the MLS club is giving away United home jerseys to supporters who buy two or more.
The match was switched to the Earthquakes' Avaya Stadium from the University of California's 62,500 Memorial Stadium in Berkeley.
Tour operators said that move was made on the back of a request from United, who wanted to cut down on travelling time.
Van Gaal's men are based in San Jose, around 47 miles away from the Memorial Stadium.
A source told Sportsmail around 40,000 refunds had to be given to supporters who had bought tickets for the original venue.
The offer, for the International Champions Cup clash, was announced on the Earthquakes website.
Fans who turn up to the club's Box Office on Monday and buy two or more tickets will be given the shirt.
However, their gifts will soon be out of date - United will wear new adidas jerseys from next season and their existing deal with Nike expires on July 31.
Following the match against the Earthquakes, United will take on Barcelona at Levi's Stadium, home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers on Saturday.
The 68,500 venue, in Santa Clara, is also a short distance away from their training base.
