Many of their brains have been unable to process what's happened in the last seven years. Not all of them, but there are many united fans who simply cannot reconcile the reality of the 'project' in their minds. It's a blunt coping mechanism. It shows how much it's truly hurting them.It will be interesting to see how they fare. In terms of transfers they've made bigger strides than any other top side to date, but enough to crack the top four? I actually think City would be the most likely to miss out from the current top four occupants as it stands as they have such a thin, ageing squad and their pursuits of De Bruyne and Pogba seem futile. They are actually in a more worrying predicament than ourselves IMO.
