I'm a United fan just signed up to these forums and a regular RedCafe poster. I regularly scan the United thread on here so decided to sign up. I'm here for banter and good discussion, not to grind gears.
As for the current situation, everyone is very surprised at being linked with the French boy Martial, as it is a lot of money for a young and unproven striker, despite us being monitoring for him for a year or so. However I trust our scouts as they've served us well with young players in the past (Ronaldo, Rooney, De Gea for instance) and maybe he is one for the future, but not so much for the here and now.
The feeling is a lot of us would rather attract a big name player, however it seems not possible at the moment with attractions elsewhere. Most of us are quiet patient supporters with signings and managers I think, but Van Gaal has shown too much of an ego so far, in denial about squad problems (striker and GK) and it's turning into a circus. The supporters are desperate for a world class striker before tomorrow but it looks like we've done our business.
