If there are any lurking reds on here then this might make it back to sad cafe, but here goes, I FUCKIN LOVE IT, FOR 20 ODD YEARS THEY HAD SUCCESS AND THAT BRED THE TYPE OF FAN THAT WAS ARROGANT AND INCREDIBLY OBNOXIOUS, THEY BELITTLED US WHEN APPARENTLY WE WERE NOT RELEVANT TO THEM, BUT NOW THEY'RE IN TURMOIL AND I LOVE EVERY BAD RESULT, EVERY MISPLACED PASS, EVERY GOAL AGAINST, EVERY BAD PIECE OF PRESS,THE LITTLE GINGER TWAT IS PUTTING THE BOOT IN AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, EVERY VAN GAAL PRESS CONFERENCE AND THIS MAKE ME BELIEVE IN KARMA ALL THE MORE, WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND AND EVERY MINUTE THAT THE SCUM SUCKING MORONS ARE MISERABLE MAKES ME JUST A LITTLE BIT HAPPIER AND EVEN THOUGH TONIGHTS RESULT MIGHT NOT BE A TERRIBLE RESULT, THE FACT THAT THEY HAD VICTORY SNATCHED AWAY FROM THEM MAKES IT A LITTLE BIT SWEETER...... Seen a topic on Ragcaf' about their Youth Academy... Apparently their head of youth role hasn't been filled in over a year (after Brian Mcclair left for Scottish FA)
Some Rags on there thinking their youth system will be scrapped altogether.

Not looking good for their development. Comedic to think they once were the masters of player poaching from other academies, and then spit the dummy when they perceive other clubs to be doing the same thing.

been saying this for a while....the press and especially some pundits have latched on to the notion that their defence is rock solid...no it isn't. The way that they set up protects the whole of the back four by their midfield. This is why smalling has looked so good, like you mention when their midfield tried to go forward last night their back line was exposed for once at just how bad it actually is. And this is what LVG has been covering up this season.

LVG has been masquerading their defence as some kind of improvement he has brought to the team, when all he has done is protect that whole back line with the rest of the players. It has all been a false representation this season up until last night

They had loads of room at the back and looked suspect every time Newcastle attacked, Sissoko ran rings round them, a player I really like. A great result for SOL. If you aspire to top 4 you should be winning games here. They won't get top 4. Not based on one result, based on the fact they're seriously in decline.
