Maya plays fantastic - goes to United and now according to them he isn't great.
Di'maria plays fantastic - goes to United and is poor, leaves and is back to being fantastic.

There's a common denominator here isn't there....but it's not UTDs fault! Oh no!

Its because of his fantastic form that his glaring weaknesses are hidden.
He is very similar to Mata in that regards. Even at Madrid he was criticized for his energy levels (to attack and defend).

Agreed. Ed Woodward needs to appoint more modern football men as advisors.
Look how Juve appointed Nedved and Ajaz appointed Van Der Sar as part of their management.

In SAF and SBC, we have footballing men with a history of sucess but I think that they look at everything through a 'romantic' perspective rather than a market oriented one.
I'd love it if we hired Gary Neville and Ole Solskjaer as full-time advisors.

Not really. I acknowledge his high output at Real.
But compare him to the teams he was playing against and the players he has had on his side.

At Real Madrid with some of the world's best attackers on his side, his average rating was 7.37 per game (out of 10).
At Arsenal with a decent attackers on his side his average rating is 7.80 this season.
His average rating at Arsenal during the last two seasons has been 7.29.
My belief is that his real level is closer to 7.29 than his current form.

I didn't see it but I'm not sure what would have been snide about it. After seven games without a win, fans of many clubs would be calling for a new manager.
What was/is pretty snide and small time is their public begging of Mourinho to take the job.
