I have to say I'm laughing at united fans on Twitter tonight.

They're all talking about "see, how bad can the academy be when we're doing so well in the u21's" and how great (23 year old) will Keane is for scoring 5 against kids 4 and 5 years younger. What an achievement.

Not to mention 28 year old, 70 caps for Argentina Sergio Romero, 24 year old Phil Jones and £25m Memphis Depay.

What a joke.

They are all products of the famous and well renowned "United Yoof"

Varela is 23 next month too. Their keeper should be Johnstone but even he's 23 next month. Plus McNair looks to have been banished from the first team after 'bursting on to the scene' last season.

To be fair I think they did also win the 94 youth cup with the younger players of the class of 92, they had a good couple of years but the media bunched them all together for ease of expression.

The best they have produced since then is serviceable squad players. Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher, Cleverley that kind of thing.
Phil Neville was one of them,he was 2 years younger & had pretty much nothing to do with the class of 92 yet he's always included

i like to say when they bleat on about Uniteds youth that they haven't produced an England regular for 24 years, or for better effect a quarter of a century

The media who have shown no interest in United junior teams for at least 13 very good reasons, now in raptures for the first time in two years since the time they introduced the fame and the glory of the Manchester Senior Cup to a breathless world. What a load of bollocks.

Daily mirror on Saturday, Robbie Savage wrote 'I can see Un!$ed unveil Jose Moronio on the day that Pep tales charge at City, to steal their thunder' or words to that effect. Fast forward a few hours and my bandmate comes out with the very same statement to two other unfortunates. Each one laps it up as if that crank taking over is gonna make everything just dandy.

Like we will advise United in advance of Peps arrival at the CFA

Cleverlery? United didn't produce him, Bradford City did.

There was a tremendous crush where you came in from the main road side because people would not move but it was not too bad on the far side, where you got a good view of totally left footed Taggart making a disaster of playing right back.

Colin Hendry played a blinder for Rovers and we signed him not long after so he could score an own goal at Maine Road which, because of the usual lies from United's Taggart, bizarrely became.......Ryan Giggs first goal for the Rags. Even in those days the media were bowing down to what Purple Conk said and of course it all becomes 'history'.

The OG was at old Trafford

Yep. Hit the bottom of Pointons foot as he tried to block the cross. Margetson for some reason dived over it and Hendry I think kicked it into the roof of the net!! Result, Giggs goal. YCMIU, SCUM

I was stood behind the goal that day, it was only my 2nd away trip that season. My banana burst after I had a fight with my mate so I ended up wearing it as a hat. I remember being on the platform at the train station and this guy with a radio had everyone huddled round it listening to the newsflash of the tragedy. At that point and the time being about 545 it said about 50 fans had died and I can see this lad with the radio even now, streaked hair and a bumfluff tash with a flick haircut, saying fuck me 50 scousers dead. My mum thought it was the city match at first and that was the only time I've seen her happy to see me. Sad day.

Oddly enough the Bradford fire happened the day we were promoted thrashing Charlton at a packed Maine Road. Me and my Dad were there and my Mum had only heard " Fire..........at..........City" in reports and of course the days before mobiles she was shitting herself until we got home

That's an identical story to me, except it was me and my grandad.

Tried to watch reports on the recent anniversary to remind myself of what happened and what it was like then - fook me thats a hard watch. Couldn't get to the end of it - John Helm the YTV commentator that day could teach some of the tossers from today a thing or two. There was a guy who was a sports JOURNALIST - who reverted to a journalist and reported what was happening. It is still horrible today.
