Oh how things change from 7 years ago

It's incredible, really. Three days before the footballing landscape changed beyond belief. All the certainties that we all had; City and united fans alke, have since been obliterated mercilesly. I think we all sometimes forget the significance of the journey we've been on, because we've been at the heart of it.

If you step back and think of the seemingly immutable laws of the footballing universe when those posts were made - and consider the same arena today - with united, once so imperious, staggering round like a punch-drunk faded pugilist, and City, recent setbacks notwithstanding, a byword for all that is effective, innovative and visionary within the game, it really is incredible.

To think, some of us used to cast our eyes towards united with a very real chip on our shoulder, whereas now that sentiment has been superseded by a very real sense of amused contempt.
