Perhaps, on 200k a week, the point is to drain the swamp ?That weaselly twat, Lingard, has now gone more than 25 hours since his last goal or assist in the Premier League.
What is the point of the horrible little fucker?

Scary when you think of it like that. They will be assisted at every turn in those two games make no mistakeWe need to beat them in the League Cup as that removes one avenue for them to get into Europe next season.
If they miss out altogether that could be the catalyst for a severe downturn in their fortunes.

When you buy Pogba , you buy the brand and image and he will sell you shirts ,what he produces on the pitch is mostly irrelevant in modern day football , for what he has produced for the Rags since returning to the Swamp he isnt even in the top 50 midfield players in the Premier league , never mind europe. If he signs for Real they will cover his transfer fee with merchandise sales , but he will contribute little on the field of play , he's a walking advertising board , changing his hair style every week is of more interest than what he does with a football.

Sure that theory has been proven to be false, when clubs sign a shirt deal it's a fixed fee, possibly with conditions. Shirt sales probably will affect what you can demand when negotiating a new contract but I doubt they make money on the image for each shirt. sale. Funny how only United fans ever state "we get our money back on shirt sales"When you buy Pogba , you buy the brand and image and he will sell you shirts ,what he produces on the pitch is mostly irrelevant in modern day football , for what he has produced for the Rags since returning to the Swamp he isnt even in the top 50 midfield players in the Premier league , never mind europe. Not only that I don't ever recall seing anyone wearing a Pogba shirt, the Chinese might but they will be knock off shirts anyway
Clubs typically make 10%-15% royalties on shirt sales but United's Adidas deal is so front loaded that their percentage is much smaller. The bulk of shirt sales revenue goes to Adidas. United shirt royalties are only an estimated £3 million on top of their £75 million a year flat fee from Adidas. An article in the Guardian in 2016 once and for all busted the myth of United getting transfer fees back in shirt sales.
And of course the Adidas fee gets slashed by 30% when United don't qualify for the Champions League next season.
