Isco is a finishing touch/luxury signing you make to add something extra or different to a very good, functioning cog of a team. It’s not somebody you sign when you’ve not got a single midfielder or attacker that would make it into a top 4 side.

Would love it to be true.

Agreed. They needed to use this window to be ruthless and get rid of all their shit, just like Pep did here in 2017. I mean look at the extent of his cleanout:

Kolarov
Clichy
Zabaleta
Sagna
Caballero
Nasri
Nolito (admittedly his own mistake).

That is brutal.

Compare this to Valencia and Herrera so far, the latter of which was probably one of their better players. Bailly, Lingard, Young, Sanchez, Rojo, Darmian, and Jones at a minimum need to be replaced yet there's barely a murmur of even one leaving. Instead they've thrown money at average or declining players like Mata, JLingz's lapdog and De Donut Thief.

They pay their shit too much. So whereas most of those players would be at Everton, West Ham etc.(at best) United can't shift them
