I think its more pessimism for the rags getting it right. I'm optimistic they won't.
I'm optimistic they'll continue to get it wrong.

The point I was trying to make was that I didn't share his view about the rags getting it right.

There is nothing I would love more than to see that shower of shit collapse beyond recognition.

Every time things go wrong for a manager, we see posters saying I hope the rags don’t sack him, as they might appoint someone who is actually competent, or words to that effect.

So far, in four attempts, post-pisscan, they have failed miserably, though TT did seem to be on the right track, but because he didn’t get the rabble into the Champions' League places, he too was given the bullet, despite winning the Cup (with a little help from (Clattenbent).

What I’m trying to say is that there is nothing to suggest that they will get it right in the foreseeable future.

Completely agree with you Vienna.

I've mentioned it a few times in the rag thread already, "they're finished"

Martin Samuels describes football as cyclical. When the Pisscan was at the helm his sole purpose was to knock Liverpool off their perch. He spent all his time scheming, plotting and bullying his way to achieving that goal. That was the rags main focus for over twenty years.

Now what?.......... They haven't got a clue what their objective is anymore. They haven't got the players or manager to challenge for top four let alone the premier league title.

Twenty odd years spent getting one over on their (true) rivals has left them completely devoid of identity, ideas and direction. I agree with Martin Samuels and I think the rags are going to Spend the next ten to fifteen years in the footballing wilderness.

it's a farmers field in truth at carrington

And that is my point, 20 years ago it was state of the art, as was the school (you try living in the catchment area and getting your kids in !) now both are out of date. In terms of the Rags copying our training facilities, other than hiring Carrington off us, they need to spend 30 mil on that alone. The Glazers will not authorise that so they are mired in shit for years.

I built Carrington when I was at Laings back in 1999. It is a decent facility but a shite depressing location and next to a load of electricity pylons.

Not sure what has been spent on it in the intervening years but it cost 10 million back then.

Things have moved on hugely since then so I would imagine it needs a lot doing to it.

Look at what we have as seen in the Prime Documentary, ice chambers and other state of the art facilities, they have get 2 pitches and a coke machine.
