My mate (Utd) said after last night's match that it's not like it's life and death and he's losing interest in football. What a soft twat, life is shit for them and I love it.

It seems to be the stock answer for many nowadays. 'Money has ruined the game' usually cited as a reason, with no hint of irony ffs.

I like many said it when he started - the next Danny Welbeck and Greenwood is the next Marcus Rashford. All rank average. However, playing for the scum means your trajectory goes as follows - score a couple of goals when young, supporters get giddy. Several caps for England follow.

Goals dry up but they still get picked for England allowing stock to remain high. Sold for decent money to a club a tier below. For Welbeck this was Arsenal. This will mostly likely be Bournemouth for Gashy. Continue to be tripe for the next few years at new club. Get sold on to a club the next tier down. In Welbeck’s case this is Watford. At this juncture, the England career is well over and they are consigned to a memory of being for a moment the next big hope for the Scum and for England.

Rashford is not far off the second stage. Maybe this and another before the baton is passed on to Greentosh.

Rinse and repeat.

Aah yes .. a well worn path.
I always remember fondly the great debate about building the England side around the then budding midfield genius that was Tom Cleverley!
Happy days!

Alan Smith went to Utd from Leeds.

he left Utd to go to Newcastle.

Ok you get the drift.
While were at it how could phil Neville possibly play for England
Something slightly dodgy about it all, players get signed by rags or come through from youth have a few decent games, fast tracked to England side their profile rises slightly and then so does their transfer market value when some are sold on ..

Good point.
They even tried to get jizzy jazz hands to play for england.
After one game.
Then people question me when I say I wouldnt watch England if you paid me

It's remarkable the amount of people (and not just rags) who rate Rashford as a top player like it's an obvious statement of fact, despite all the evidence suggesting otherwise. I've never seen anything other than a bang average Premier League forward in him. Don't believe the hype!

There was a decent investigative article about this stuff. It involved this stuff and Roy Hodgeson's player agency. It was not even suspicious, it was/is a flat out racket of sorts. Not sure how much influence he has now, Southgate seems his own man. I doubt whispers to play x work to much on him.
