This breed have an obsession with the claim that we simply buy through numerous flops until we finally get someone decent through blind luck and probability.
They're still regularly bringing up the 2014 signing of Mangala as proof of this, and he's one of the more recent ones. That was 7 years ago. The same year they brought in Falcao, Di Maria, Herrera, Blind and Rojo amongst others...
During Peps reign, we've had an abnormally brilliant period of successful signings, there's only really Mendy that's cost big and hasn't worked out and that's largely down to the multiple ACL injuries nobody could have predicted. Bravo too can be on that list although we didn't break the bank for him. it's hard to name any other flops since Pep. Even players that didn't stay long played their part before moving on for good money. The likes of Danilo played his part before being sold for a profit, Sane was brilliant before being sold for a profit. Yes we've spent a lot, just like most other sides near the top but since Pep has come in, there's not a single club that's spent better than we have yet these deluded fucks think we just sign flop after flop.
Their views on Kane are a great read. they're trying to decided between themselves which of their cast offs (definitely not flops, because as we've just established they don't make poor signings) they can dump on Spurs for Kane.
They're doing the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting loudly and completely ignoring Kane's words. The guy could not have made it any clearer he wants City. Talked about how he's going to be watching other English clubs in the champions league final wanting that to be him (not the europa league final) recently talked up Foden, talked about wanting to win league titles, (the last time united won the league, 9 years ago, Kane was a kid on loan at Norwich) and if that wasn't enough he went and name checked KDB as somebody he wants to play with. short of him doing an interview in a city top he couldn't have made it any more clear he wants City. I would have thought they'd be in full "didn't want him anyway, greenwood is twice the player anyway" mode by now.
