Via my professional career, I'm more than familiar with marketing research projects, the various methodologies employed and even Kantar Media. All I'll say is that this is the rags throwing Kantar under the bus after being called out. Unless Kantar were given free reign to do whatever they wanted, unchecked (unlikely), or the people at the rags marketing dept were complete imbeciles (to be fair, quite possible), there's no way this number would've made it out, without the rags full blessing.
The thing is that Kantar Media claimed that this was the number of United followers. As soon as the club got hold of the information they changed the word followers to fans.

Anti-Glazer united fan at work told me today that when they became a PLC they were spending their own money. He also tells me KDB can't be world class because he plays for likkle citeh. Question: does he know less about football or business?
I dont know but did you not tell him that when they became a PLC they were inviting a takeover, just because he doesnt like who owns them now is irrelevant. Further, now they are a PLC who does he think is going to the buy Glazers out, The Bill Gates Non Profit Foundation ?

He's full of the united DNA so doesn't have much room for nuance and common sense. I'm just thick

This Trumpian post-truth, post-facts story had Ashton’s greasy fingerprints all over it
And according to the BBC, when the news of the equaliser's resignation first broke, it was always the plan that he was leaving at the end of the year.

So nothing has changed. It’s a complete non-story.

They would be mid table if it wasn’t for cavani. Every year they have a striker that saves their arse.

Who was the rag player who was making the extremely ostentatious Sign of the Cross as he came out onto the pitch.
I have nothing against any player praying before a match but why have to do it in front of the cameras 'with the 'hey, look at me posing' it all seems completely put on and completely insincere as it most certainly was when Beckham had a short spell of doing it.

Footballers seem to be the most ostentatious worshippers of religion, hands in the air on the deck headbutting the floor, crossing themselves to death.

And all as you say, when the cameras in in their faces.

I had the same argument with one I know back in the day when they stood outside the Vodafone shop in Market Street singing “United, not for sale”
I pointed out that they were ‘for sale’ from 8am to 4.30pm every weekday when the London Stock Exchange was open. The numb twat didn’t understand what I was telling him
